Hi My users have asked me to display the layers in the layer list in alphabetical order as there are over 50 layers in the map and it is hard to find the one that they want. I really don't want to have to change the drawing order as this needs to be maintained with polygons first, then line and points to enable the data to be shown clearly. Whilst there is a way of allowing layers to be moved up and down when using the widget, I cannot see away to permanently change this. Is it possible at all to do this in the code? Thanks Mark

Thanks Robert - I am surprised ESRI hasn't created such a widget as I would have thought it's something a lot of people use and is available in other competing products like GeoCortex. I just wish I had the development skills to do this!! I will submit is a an idea on here

We are trying to recreate an application we have in GeoCortex and need to offer users at least the same level of functionality. One of the tools allowed users to effectively enter their own sql query by selecting the layer, fields and operators (effectively select by attributes). The only tools I can find in WAP require an administrator to set up all possible queries in advance - with about 50 layers, this is impossible! We would also require a select by location tool. Is there anything like this available on WAB? I have looked but cant find anything.

Hi - We would love our internal GIS users to have access to something like this. In the past other widgets that link to Google Maps/Streetview appear to have been pulled as the breach the terms of the API (linking from a map to Streetview was against the terms?). Have Google changed their policy, or did previous discussions on here reach the wrong conclusion?

Thanks - interesting that it shouldn't be on a box running windows server. We are using it for portal and it is on our Portal server and appears to run ok. I was thinking we should install it on our webserver in the DMZ so that it was not on our corporate network (which is where the app would be hosted). Would there be any security risk installing in on a desktop machine on the network, or should it be on a standalone machine? Thanks Mark

Hi Is there a way to change the units in the Screening widget? We can get it to use metric, but it uses square km for area, which is not a unit we would use - in the UK we are more likely to use hectares or square metres Unfortunately, we don't currently have developer edition for AGOL (mainly as we are unclear on the most secure place to install it!) Thanks

Hi We are testing the screening widget to allow members of the public to assess which Local Plan policies are in force in a user defined area. There is clearly some geoprocessing going on in the background which calculated the area of intersection of each layer with the area of interest. This works very well for the most part. However, we are having problems when there is a donut polygon involved (in our case Green Belt). If the area of interest straddles an area where there is a hole in the donut polygon, the reported area of intersection is the whole area of the polygon. For example, the area of interest was 0.4km2 yet the intersection was 166km2. Can you let me know how we can get round this, or if there is any way to supress this intersection calculation altogether as I think it will be very confusing to customers. Thanks Mark

Hi We are setting up a workforce application for street name plates where it is damage has been reported. Initially, an assignment will be created to go and inspect the plate - I can do this. However, after the initial inspection, depending on the outcome of the inspection, I want to create a follow up assignment to sent someone out to clean or repair it, which is where I am having issues. Is it possible to create a new assignment based on a previous one, or do you have to manually create it? Thanks Mark

This is exactly the issue I am having. Unfortunately, when I add data that way, you dont appear to be able to filter by selection, unless I am doing something wrong. Basically, I want to show the data for our whole district, unless someone selects a ward within it. As this doesnt appear possible, I cannot see how the widget can be of any use to me.

We have over 4 sets of aerial imagery that our customers would like to view side by side. I understand that the compare analysis template in AGOL can only view 4 at a time (I understand more than this would be too small), but I was wondering if there was a way that the user could select which map is shown in each of the windows, perhaps by activating the layer list or basemap selector in the template?

Hi There is no control at all in the gui for the layer list in this template that I can see, unless I am missing something obvious (which is entirely possible!!) I dont want to add it to the widgets in the bottom left as I want it appearing on the right as it does when you open it from the header. I am also hoping to open the identify widget on load, which I can from the little button on the widget! Thanks again

I agree it would be if it wasnt in the header controller! I cant work out how to change the behavior of widgets in here!

Thanks I have got the layers to expand using this or one of the other replies (perhaps expand wasnt the right term to use) - however, what I need is the layer list to be open on screen when the map opens. I dont want the user to have to click the icon to open it.
