Thanks - I will give this a go. However, due to potential (very slight) performance cost, I would still rather change the code to achieve this. If we edit an app that has been created using an esri template (crowdsource polling), there is a mapDiv in ID in the the css file which allows you to change the background-color. Unfortunately, I cannot find something similar in any of the WAB developer files.

Hi I there a way to add transparency to a basemap in a web app? Our users need the basemap to be faded out slightly to enable them to to see features, but sometimes, especially when printing just the basemap, they need it to be more bold. In the web map there is the option to change the transparency of the basemap though the layer list, but the basemap does not appear on the layerlist for an app. Can it be added to the layerlist? The only work arounds I could think of are: 1. I could create different versions of each basemap, each with a different transparency setting 2. I could use the e basemap gallery widget and add a 'blank' basemap and allow the user to select two maps - an actual basemap and the blank one and fade it out that way.Think this would confuse the users a bit and couldnt be used as a default for the map. Thanks

Hi We have a map with over 100 layers and are querying it with the Screening widget. Quite often this gets stuck on one of the layers and you need to restart it. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to stop this from happening? One thing I wondered was if it related to the number of layers in a service. Would the widget work better if each layer had its own service, if they are all in one, or somewhere in between? At the moment the map has a number of services, some with many layers and some with less. Another thing I wondered is if it would work better with hosted feature layers rather than reading them from our SDE database? The app would still have to be hosted on our servers as there is quit a bit of customisation. If anyone has any other thoughts, lease let me know. Thanks

Its not the light grey canvas basemap. The problem is the cached basemap has transparency and the background of the webpage shows through. We can change the colour but it means hosting the app.

When creating cached map services for a basemap in png format, the background colour appears to be grey in AGOL and not white like in ArcMap due to the background colour of the ArcGIS Online website. The abiltiy to chaned this background colour to white (or any other colour) would prevent the need for the basemap to be created in JPEG format, which is lower quality, takes longer to cache and takes up more space.

We have created a cached map service of Ordnance Survey data, which is a mixture of raster and vector data. When zoomed in past 1:5000 it uses MasterMap vector data. The cache is created in mixed format and for these scales it has a transparent background. When this is added to ArcMap or any desktop product it looks great, but in AGOL or Portal it looks terrible as the canvas colour for these porducts, for some reson, is grey, not white. Does anyone know if it is possible to change the default colour of the canvas in AGOL? ESRI UK's solution was to put a white polygon behind the data, but this forces it to create a jpeg cache, which is of poor quality and much larger than the mixed (png?) version. The other alternative is to change the css of the app, but that means we need to host it, which isn't ideal.

Hi That will do the job nicely, thanks. My only question is, is there a way to bulk add the identify layers? There are well over 100 in this map and I woulld rather not have to add them individually as this would be very time consuming!! Thanks Mark

We have created an app using the crowdsource polling template. The webmap has a cached basemap (with custom scales), which also shows various constraints and a feature layer for sites we are gathering comments on. In the webmap the cache appears at all zoom levels, as one would expect. However, when in the app, it doesnt display at the largest scale (should be 1:500). Do you know any reason this may be occurring? Thanks Mark Allison Muise

Hi I love this widget but have a question. I am using the Tabbed theme and when no other side panel widgets are open, if you identify an object, it will open the panel and display the result. However, if one of the other widgets are highlighted, when you identify, it stays on the existing widget and you have to manually click on the popup widget. Is there a way to give the popup widget focus in this situation? Thanks

Hi Is there a way to get an identify tool to list out all results rather than put have to scroll though lots of pages? We have blocks of flats which may have over 50 points stacked on one location. This information would be mucheasier to view if it were in a list, rather than each point on a separate page (ideally in a panel rather than a popup. Thanks
