Hi all! Im experiencing some strange behaviour with Survey 123 Connect (3.0.127). Essentially i have enabled it to collect polygons via the geoshape type. The web survey allows me to capture polygons (after i have enabled viewing at 3.8) however when i go to AGOL or Arcpro to view the feature service it is capturing points not polygons. In AGOL when i select the attribute record for the entry however it will highlight a 'polygon' around it. See screenshot attached. Is this expected behaviour? I had envisaged collecting actual polygons when i read about the geoshape functionality. Any help would be great! Cheers Amber

Hi Jonathan, I never had the requirement to edit newly added layers myself, essentially for me thus far the map sourced into the Web App has never been updated with new datasets. I can see how frustrating that would be. Unfortunately I don’t have any answers for you except maybe suggesting that ESRI consider this in their next update. Best of luck! Amber

Hi Stefano, Are you selecting features after you have changed the dropdown option from “Polygon” to “Select features to copy”. You need to drag-select to select features as well. I cant seem to get the tool to select from a simple click. Cheers Amber

Hi Laura, Did you tick the 2 options below? You also need to set the layer you want to edit in the "Layer Settings" tab of the widget config If you have done both of these steps, make sure when you test the widget you dont have any polygons of your editable layer selected (when i do this i see the same window configuration you showed above). If you hit the "Clear" button in the widget your window should return to the default state, see below From this point - click one of your templates, eg "Do not Survey", you will see "New Selection" change to "Polygon" (or i guess point/line) -> click the drop down arrow next to polygon and chose "Select features to copy" You then need to drag select a polygon and then chose "Create Features" You should be good to go from there i think. Let me know if my workflow doesn't make sense! Cheers Amber

Hey everyone, I found an AGOL widget that will do this process for me - hopefully will help most of you as well. The Smart Editor widget in web app builder allows you to copy polygons from one layer and copy to another, while copying over attributes (provided schemas are matching). Tick: Allow user to create new features from existing features option and Copied feature values override defaults Then click on New Feature, then from the drop down "Select features to copy" option in the tool and drag select the polygons you'd like to copy.

Hi Derek, Im wondering if you can clarify a bit: When you say "You can use Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS Developer Editionto leverage custom widgets, by logging into your ArcGIS Online organization." do you mean that custom widgets can be created and consumed (via Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS Developer Edition i assume?) into ArcGIS Online? My organisation currently only has ArcGIS Online, although we are expecting to move to Portal for ArcGIS in future, so this functionality would be useful. Cheers Amber

Hi Gordon, I must have misunderstood the original post, I thought you had originally created a script to copy from one feature class and paste into a different editable feature class but the one you have uploaded is for copying from and pasting into the same feature class. Does this script cover both of these scenarios? I am very much in the learning phase in regards to Python so apologies for my ignorance! Cheers Amber

Hi Gordon, Just wondering if you still have the original py script for the GP tool you created and would be willing to hare? My organisation also needs to copy polygons (parcels in this instance) and paste into a separate existing layer all from within Web App Builder. Any help would be great! Amber
