Robert, I am hoping you are right. Current ArcGIS online version appears to be 3.7 based on another very recent bug report I filed. So this bug's status should definitely not be closed/fixed in 3.7. Thanks Subu

BUG-000088301:When publishing a map service with Z and or M values-enabled and uses Spatial Reference 2927, the spatial reference is displayed as WKT instead of WKID in the service description. Effect: This bug results in layers having the same underlying WKT behave like layers that have different spatial reference. So in JSAPI applications, you start having overlay issues, zoom and pan issues - any operation involving changing the extent of the map application does not work. Workaround: We had remove M and Z values from all the concerned layers that did not need them. DBA had to recreate featureclasses in production db. MXDs had to refreshed by changing the cs to something else and then reverting to 2927 which is 'washington state plane south NAD83 Harn'. New service definition files had to be created and services republished. Cache status and related files had to be recreated. Subu

BUG-000088579:The statistics of a feature service does not show the correct values on ArcGIS Online map viewer after making attribute edits with attachments from ArcGIS Online or the Collector for ArcGIS applications. FYI - This is a bug I called in. With or without attachments really does not seam to matter. Thanks Subu

Robert, Thanks for that info. Would you know anything about the out of the box query's widget? That is definitely a pain point at the moment - I do not want to deploy a custom WAB for just this functionality. What does version 3.7 mean in the bug status report? An actual fix date would make more sense. Do I need to reactivate this bug with tech support? Thanks Subu

Kirk, Thanks for the info. This bug is definitely not fixed and it affects both the out of the box WAB query widget as well as Robert's eSearch 1.1.6. Thanks, Subu

Can you provide the bug number? I would like to follow the bug and push up its priority with esri? Thank you, Subu

We are stuck in the same situation. The ADFS credentials are not being passed through to ArcGIS Server and so secured services are issuing a challenge a second time. I would really appreciate feedback from folks who have successfully implemented this. Thanks Subu

Paul - You have stated the business problem very well. Many organizations are facing this dilemma. While Derek is doing a valiant job explaining the current technical status quo, the esri business model with named users is just too complicated and unnecessarily complex to explain to the non-gis section of any organization. Currently, it appears moving to the cloud under the named user model is going to be unnecessarily more complex and challenging from a funding perspective than the previous concurrent licensing model. I hope more esri customers provide feedback to esri - publicly or privately by UC 2015. Thanks Subu

The big picture issue here is the forced link between the WAB developer edition and the named user model. Secondly - being forced to use web maps instead of ArcGIS server Rest services for WAB basemaps. I can see the need for application registration if one chooses to deploy one's app in AGOL but why does esri force all customers/developers down this road? These should be optional steps than requirements. My org is an esri customer and we pay for both ArcGIS Server and AGOL but are really frustrated with the some of the unnecessary technical restrictions around being forced into using named-users and AGOL web maps. I say this here because the folks who responded here have been building web applications from the Flex era and before and might appreciate the loss of developer and customer freedom more than others just joining in. Thanks, Subu

William, I would suggest you log a bug with esri tech support. I found a similar bug around the time of 10.1 SP1 where 'Set Mosaic Dataset Properties' does not really set and save the correct value in mosaic dataset properties. Even the ArcCatalog way of manually set and save was not working consistently for certain properties. This made it impossible to automate mosaic dataset processing using model builder or python scripts. I had hoped these got fixed in later versions but does not look like it from your experience. Confirm the bug if it still exists. It will save others a lot of time. Thanks Subu

PrintTask | API Reference | ArcGIS API for JavaScript The esri docs appear to indicate more 'granular control' - I am just wondering what that really means as I cannot find any samples that illustrate that point. Robert - Are you saying that the PrintTask is the same as the print digit/widget without the UI button or drop-down list? Making sure I am understanding it right.

Are there any sample using the PrintTask class? What does this class provide over the print widget/digit? Can anyone explain better than what the docs do? Thanks Subu

From just reading the content of those files, the server/db appears to contain json maintaining the state of the WAB apps, locale info and such misc things - makes sense why node might be writing to them on stop and restart. I would suggest that you start a new discussion/thread documenting your experience with WAB + git and post your questions there. Maybe other WAB developers and even esri staff might chime in if they choose to. Keep posting. Very useful info here. Subu

Gerardo, Git keeps track of every change to your code under its watch - nothing ever gets lost. If you use a remote repository like github or bitbucket, you have another extra layer of protection. So you can go back in time pretty easily - of course one has to learn to do commits and branches and create a process that works for your team - one more thing to learn and keep track of. Whether you put the whole WAB or individual WAB application projects in git, that is up to you. With all the custom widgets that the community is creating, it might be worth putting the whole WAB folder in git. For full version upgrades, I would mothball the old version (zip the whole WAB folder up and back it up somewhere) and create a new git repo for the new WAB version before you start importing. Having multiple WABs in the same machine/location would require changing the ports that WAB(node js) is listening on - not tried yet but appears to be theoretically possible - maybe others can chime in on that. Anyway things go wrong, you now have multiple ways of getting back to the previous working status quo quickly. Subu
