Not sure if this will help you or not, but I was experiencing the same strange behavior (would federate and validate successfully in the Portal Admin API, but not on the Portal My Organization). We use IWA SSO for credentials and I also noticed that I was signed in to the Portal automatically when navigating to that web address, but when I tried to go from Portal to /portaladmin, I got prompted for credentials and the error message "Invalid Token". I had another Admin role Portal user here try the same thing and it worked for him (SSO pass through to /portaladmin from Portal), so I isolated the issue to my account/my browser. After clearing my browser cache in Chrome, the issue was resolved and I was able to federate Server to Portal with no issues and SSO pass through to /portaladmin worked again. Pretty embarrassing since I spend a good portion of my day telling others to clear their cache! haha

Did you ever find a solution to this error message? I am receiving it, too, under the same circumstances.

Thanks for your reply, Scott. I actually do have an Esri case open regarding this issue, I just figured I would help investigate if possible. I wish there was a way to automate the unregister replicas function via Python, as we've had sync issues fairly commonly (at least once a week), and as long as we are, we're not able to automate the rest of the reconcile/delete versions portion of the workflow.

Hi Scott, Thank you for the information on unregistering replicas. Unfortunately, the links you've provided appear to just be for the REST API. Like Hillary, I'm running a Python script that lists the versions, reconciles and deletes them (if they are found to not have a replica), which is an Esri example script found here . The issue is, orphaned replicas (sync_send versions that are the result of a failed Collector sync attempt) are not listed by the Python function arcpy.da.ListReplicas, so when the script runs and adds them to the list of versions to be deleted, the script fails, because it actually DOES have dependent children, they're just not seen by the ListReplicas function. This is why we either need a) a way for arcpy functions to see all replicas, including sync_send orphaned replicas or b) some other way to delete/unregister them in an automated (python) fashion. Thanks, Adrien

Hi Vince, Good morning, and thank you for your response. I've read this thread in great detail, and what I'm not seeing, which is why I asked the question, is why this behavior occurs with only a small percentage of feature classes and not all of them? What about the feature class and its loading procedure causes some to behave 'normally' and others to skip by 200 or 400? Again, I understand your explanation as to why it skips, but I don't understand why it's not consistent among all feature classes in existence in the world. Secondly, the reason I'm asking about a solution is because a) it looks messy and b) it will cause our dataset to reach the maximum number allowable prematurely. Thanks, Adrien

Hi Vince, I'm experiencing the same issue on a couple of datasets using MSSQL Server. My questions are a) why doesn't this sequencing occur in every feature class? and b) is there any way to remedy/avoid it? Thanks! Adrien

Hi Robert, Unfortunately that didn't work. As it turns out, none of the layers in web app/Portal map have the Shape field exposed (close to 30 layers total), yet when I spot-checked the REST endpoints, they're all showing it there. These are all services hosted in an enterprise geodatabase published to ArcGIS Server (federated with Portal). Not sure if it matters that I'm using the individual feature layer item of the map server item for most of the layers in the Portal map? Thanks!

Hi All, I'm a little late to the thread here, but I'm running into the same issue of the "zoom to" button not working in the Attribute Table widget in WAB. Trying to solve it using the suggestion provided by Robert has only produced another issue - I can't seem to "turn on" the Shape field anywhere?? I'm using Portal (10.5.1) to create my map for WAB. Within the Portal map, I've checked the pop-up configuration parameters (where several of the field properties are configured), as well as in the table itself, and I do not see the Shape field listed. I did NOT turn it off prior to publishing the service from ArcMap and when I go to the REST endpoint of the service, it is listed as a field there. Any suggestions for how to turn this on so the "zoom to" tool will work in the Attribute Table widget?? Thanks!

Hi, I have an input connector that is polling JSON from an external website. The format is: yyyy-MM-dd'T'HH:mm:ss.SSSZ. I have it written that way in the 'Expected Date Format' in the Advanced options of the input connector. The native time zone of the incoming data is GMT (0). We are located in EST/EDT, and would like for the time to be displayed using the local time zone. How do I accomplish this?

Hi Kelly, I'm having a similar issue in Web AppBuilder (running via Portal version 10.5.1 rather than AGOL). Can you confirm if the bug still exists for Portal users?

Hi Chris, We're in the same boat as the author. We have an ArcGIS Server 10.5.1 deployment installed on one machine. We also installed the spatiotemporal big data store on that server site (but residing on a different virtual machine). We followed the steps above for installing ArcGIS Server/GeoEvent Server on a second machine, but were never prompted during the process to enter the site name/URL/credentials for the base deployment ArcGIS Server site. When/where/how in the steps outlined above would we do that? Thanks, Adrien

Hi, I've looked through the little help documentation on ArcGIS Earth I was able to find online, and I'm not seeing how to resolve this error in there. I'm connecting to ArcGIS Earth through our Portal site (which is version 10.5.1), rather than through ArcGIS Online. I've noticed when I go to add a basemap or terrain within the ArcGIS Earth application, I'm only shown custom-curated content, not the ArcGIS Online-hosted basemap content that I'm used to seeing in ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro and Portal for ArcGIS. Why is this? Is there something I'm missing? Where are the topography, imagery, etc basemaps I normally have access to? Thanks! Adrien

Hi, I've used the Create Attachments tool quite a bit for various projects. I have a new problem though that I'm not sure how to solve. As the title indicates, I have a point feature class and I have several graphs, photos, etc. to be attached to a single point feature. Per the Esri support (Add Attachments—Data Management toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop third bullet point under Usage), I should be able to name my pictures pic1a.jpg, etc to correspond to the ObjectID of the point feature I'm trying to attach to. What the support doesn't mention is how/if this actually works, though. My concern is that when I use the Generate Attachment Match Table and Add Attachments geoprocessing tools, I'm not going to be using the correct settings to be able to tell the GIS that ObjectID 1 in the feature class is equal to pic1a.jpg and pic1b.jpg in the attachments directory. The other times I've used these tools, it was more straightforward and a one-to-one attachment relationship. Will the GIS automatically recognize that 1a and 1b should be matched to ObjectID 1 or do I need to configure the tool to do that? Thanks!
