I have 24 cores and I allocated 18 to ArcGIS Pro 1.4. I understand your points. However, my organization purchased thie beast and I want to see it run. I'll see what happens when I run another geoprocessing tool. Create Space Time Cube as you have stated will not leverage my hardware.

I have a new workstation that has 128 GB of RAM and 12 core Intel Xeon CPU. I am trying to run geoprocessing task using ArcGIS Pro 1.4. ArcGIS Pro is not consuming any RAM (7GB) and the CPU usage is non existent. OS is Windows 7 SP1 What can I do to get ArcGIS Pro 1.4 to utilize my hardware?

Extremely complicated scenario you are describing. It's one thing to send the closest unit. However, If you take the closest unit you may make your overall service area vulnerable to another response. We have used this a good bit in our urban analysis. I think you need to plot all your incidents and perform location allocation, service area, and closest facility. You pair these analyses to determine appropriate response. It's also a challenge to find a reliable routable network dataset. I'd be interested in hearing your progress.

Dan, Craig, Thank you both for your feedback. I setup two sets of label classes for. One for my 11x17 map and one for my 24x36. I found that I still had to reset the label each time I 'flipped' between layouts. Does this seem accurate?

I would like to produce labels for point features in different sizes depending on my layout. I have a layout at 8.5x11 and the labels need to be 7 pt. I produce the same exact map at 24x36 and the labels need to be 10.5 pt. I can't seem to get the feature class to behave differently in each layout view. Is this the way it is suppose to work?

Mobile Data Collection. I am working on a building inspection mobile application using Collector for ArcGIS via ArcGIS Online. I am storing my feature class on an MS SQL 2012 enterprise geodatabase and publishing it out to a feature service shared with my ArcGIS online organization. I have 1,000,000 (+) building footprints (polygon) that I would like to make available to Collector for ArcGIS data collectors. I am seeking techniques to make this process efficient and manageable. The Collector for ArcGIS users will not be updating geometries (digitizing) so I only need to provide them with scheduled survey areas they have been assigned at the start of a shift, I.e. Neighborhoods 5000-7000 building footprints. I want my survey teams to write back to my SDE Feature Class where I can analyze and report results of survey activities. My first thought is to create an .MXD for each neighborhood and have numerous feature services writing back to one single feature class. Not sure how this would work and the set up seems too long. I know ArcGIS online sets a 1000 feature limit on published feature layers. I am would be willing to hear solutions, suggestions and/or work-arounds to share large volume datasets with ArcGIS online organizations.

I have two SDE (10.3.1) connections. One is View and the other is named Read. They share the same exact properties in MS SQL 2014 Enterprise. They both can connect to the database as read only users. Unfortunately only View can actually see the feature classes, and other related content in the DB. The Read user can connect to the DB but the feature classes and related content are not present (blank space in ArcCatalog). The view appears blank in ArcCatalog. I have reviewed the security setting in MS SQL Management Studio and the two users appear to be exactly the same. Any thoughts?

Any ArcGIS product crack open those ports! Ports used by ArcGIS Server—Installation Guides (10.3 and 10.3.1) | ArcGIS for Server Step one make sure communication can flow. You only turned off windows firewall for known ports. MSSQL still needs the port established and opened. I create the rule and call it SDE.

I knew it! I told you about opening port 1433 last week. "Open the port for SQL (1433) and make sure your users have the SQL Client installed on local workstations and they will be able to consume SDE Feature Classes" It's ok, no one listens to me. 😕
