Is this the error you are getting when trying to create the map in the map viewer? Its possible your file is too large (have you tried generalizing feature geometries?), or you may be experiencing network issues. If you are experiencing issues with creating the web map, I would suggest jumping over to the ArcGIS online forum here for more specific help: ArcGIS Online

Sorry you are experiencing issues John. Is this the map you are working with? http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=0bf97ff58069446fa6e6a0f8b5e6260e If so, I was able to successfully build a swipe app, save, and open the app in non edit mode. I suspect it could be a network issue pushing against our timeouts we have set up in the swipe-config.js file. If you are able to download (Release V1.7.0 · Esri/swipe-map-storytelling-template-js · GitHub ) and host the app on a web server, you could try changing these settings to allow a longer duration in trying to load the application. Look for these properties (and bumping them up to the values listed): TIMEOUT_VIEWER_LOAD: 64000, TIMEOUT_VIEWER_REQUEST: 60000, TIMEOUT_BUILDER_REQUEST: 60000, Let us know if you are able to experiment with this solution, and if it resolves your issue. Thanks, Mark

Nataliya, It looks like some of your features are missing a number attribute, so the app defaults to the order of the features as they are processed. Try filing in any missing numbers and let us know if that works. Mark

Hi Jonathan, The code you need is in the example you pointed to. This was a custom version we helped Esri Thailand with for the Esri Asia Pacific User Conference. There are a few changes to the code, including two parameters in the configuration section of the index.html (FILTER_LIST_BY_EXTENT, and tabExtents). Those parameters are then used in functions called refreshList, and activateLayer, that are both in the main.js file of the app (http://www.esrith.com/apuc/app/js/main.js).

Flickr-hosted images will work with a Shortlist, and like any other image url for Shortlist, you will need to include the image type extension. For example, for one of the features, the image url is presently: xtown-logo_22360111330_o_2015.10.30 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!. It needs to be this: https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/588/22586889436_a09b432ba2.jpg Notice the .jpg extension in the url.

The css and js folders/files need to be in a folder named app in that root. If you open the developer tools of the browser you are using, you will see it is failing to find and load these files.

You will need to include the css and js files in your folder (which in the download, are stored in the app folder). Add these back in, and your Shortlist should load just fine. -Mark

Hi Matthieu, Do you have a link to your shortlist that we can take a look at? Your custom code should work fine in the updated versions of Shortlist, but we can help you take a look and see whats going on. -Mark

Hi Chaya, Take a look at this customized Shortlist that has the behavior you described: Shortlist They added some code to the function called activateLayer in the main.js file. Basically they are manually setting the visibility of the layers to true or false with Esri's JS API (ArcGIS API for JavaScript ) depending on which tab has been selected. You can view the customized main.js file here: http://www.visitlancastercity.com/artwalkingtours/app/main.js -Mark

Hi June, It looks like the attribute you are using for the image URL is just slightly different from what the application is looking for. The application is looking for an attiribute "Image_URL" and the features in your web map use "ImageURL". There is a very simple fix that will get the images to load in your Shortlist. If you open up the main.js file and edit the following line (around line 23) from: var FIELDNAME_IMAGEURL = ["Image_URL"]; To: var FIELDNAME_IMAGEURL = ["ImageURL"]; -Mark
