Kyle shared https://www.geofabrik.de where you can download OSM data for your state and then you could run change detection to find where roads have been modified from an earlier download.

Other gov and the public.... We just had a county Chamber send a letter to the Sec of DOT and Executive Direction of the Turnpike Authority about business owners being upset that their businesses were suffering because several newly constructed roads as part of a new bypass project were not showing on Google.

Thanks Eric. At the DOT, we get contacted by the public to fix issues with street data in private company datasets. I'm seeing a need that isn't being met by these companies and exploring whether government can do something more, although I agree that we provide our best data for free and they can use it as they wish.

I'm looking to hear thoughts and experiences regarding updates to incorrect data in popular basemaps like Google, Bing, Esri, etc. Has anyone had success getting a company to update incorrect data in a timely manner? Should government agencies create competing products that are based on authoritative data? Transportation

I'm guessing you are not using the Roads & Highways extension. If you use the ArcGIS Desktop Network Analyst extension, you can run the analysis using your own centerline data and create a line for the road that doesn't yet exist in the real world. You would need to create a network dataset from your road data though. If you use the ArcGIS Online network analysis services, I think you're limited to doing the analysis using street data provided to you so it would not contain the road you want to include (https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/reference/network-coverage.htm).

The MIRE FDE for intersections and interchanges is required on all non-local paved roads by September 30, 2026. - Has your agency begun collection of MIRE FDE for intersections and interchanges? - How is your agency modeling MIRE-compliant intersections and interchanges? - What resources would be helpful for your agency to meet this deadline (i.e. guidance, software/tools, etc)?

Please take a few minutes to complete a brief survey on Roads & Highways enhancements. The survey contains 4 pages: Respondent Information (Name, Email, Agency) Functional Category Importance Functional Category Ranking Comments The purpose of this survey is to identify the categories of Roads & Highways functionality that are most important to RHUG. Esri would like to use the results of this survey to build upon RHUG's previously prioritized enhancement list (https://community.esri.com/docs/DOC-13224-rhug2019enhancementsbyfunctionalitycategoriespdf) to aid in future development plans by functional area. The survey may be taken by anyone and will remain open until April 19, 2019. The survey is hosted by Ohio Department of Transportation and can be found here: https://odot.formstack.com/forms/rhug_2019_enhancement_survey

Patrick and I met with Esri 2.11.2019 about these questions. Here's an update for the group: 1. When will R&H in Pro = R&H in ArcGIS? The group desires all functionality in R&H in ArcGIS to be available in R&H in Pro before migrating to the new platform. - The Summer 2019 Pro 2.4 release and ArcGIS 10.7 prerelease will include multi-field route id support (demonstrated in the January 2019 RHUG meeting). In the next release (possibly Pro 2.5) estimated around January 2020, Esri plans to include complex route geometries (gapped routes and self-intersecting routes). Beyond two releases out, it's difficult to definitively say what will be included. Good news for all of us is that the Esri Roads & Highways Product Team continues to support RHUG and leverage the prioritized requests collectively coming out of this group. They would like to plan future releases around requests that will benefit the largest customer base. For example, if functionality A is only used/requested by 10 customers but functionality B is used/requested by 30 customers, it makes more sense to work on B first. In the next few months, we will be working through this group to prioritize remaining functionality requests and needs and plan to send another poll. Although you can always post your thoughts to GeoNet, participation in the poll will be most helpful for this group as a whole. 2. What does it mean to be "In Product Plan" for support cases deemed a BUG or ENH by Esri? More information on dates, anticipated release, etc are desired. In Product Plan means it's stored in the Product Team's repository to be worked on. Unless it's been addressed, it will continue to say In Product Plan. Esri has been providing an update on new and addressed issues during our monthly calls. However, if you have a BUG or ENH related to R&H that you'd like to be prioritized, please let us know so we can get it added to the poll. 3. Will other extensions used by R&H customers in ArcGIS be equally available when R&H is available in Pro? Will Esri do cross-software testing to ensure all extensions function together properly in Pro? The Esri Workflow Manager and Data Reviewer Product Teams will be presenting at our February 2019 meeting. These questions can be asked/discussed then. 4. How will Esri address migration of self-intersecting route data to R&H in Pro to account for the Esri-recommended workarounds many customers have used in R&H in ArcGIS for alpha routes, lollipops, etc? Esri has been testing data in Pro from several customers who have agreed to share their data. In order to migrate data to R&H in Pro, you need to make sure your data can go to branched versioning (i.e. global IDs, editor tracking on) as well as run the Modify LRS GP tool. This tool will upgrade your data similar to having upgraded versions of geodatabases in the past. There is no need to reload your data unless you want to make changes (i.e. modify how you do route IDs) to your dataset or start fresh from that point in time.

Andrew - NCDOT has a SQL script we use that we can share with you. Also, something important to state along with this topic - a route may be dominant along part of it's length and subordinate along a different part of it's length.

The RHUG Steering Committee met 1.24.2019 and had a discussion about the Esri R&H roadmap and desired software functionality. Some questions raised: 1. When will R&H in Pro = R&H in ArcGIS? The group desires all functionality in R&H in ArcGIS to be available in R&H in Pro before migrating to the new platform. 2. What does it mean to be "In Product Plan" for support cases deemed a BUG or ENH by Esri? More information on dates, anticipated release, etc are desired. 3. Will other extensions used by R&H customers in ArcGIS be equally available when R&H is available in Pro? Will Esri do cross-software testing to ensure all extensions function together properly in Pro? 4. How will Esri address migration of self-intersecting route data to R&H in Pro to account for the Esri-recommended workarounds many customers have used in R&H in ArcGIS for alpha routes, lollipops, etc? The Committee will be working with Esri to answer these questions and trying to get more detailed estimates of time and functionality per future releases. If you have any other questions, thoughts, etc, please reach out so we can continue serving as a collective voice for this community!
