See attached. We have server 10.3.1, portal 10.4.1 (Not federated), and our web adaptors all behind our firewall. All users either have to be within our network or use VPN to access out network. I believe the certificate error is due to the type of certificate. We are using a domain cert since a CA cannot access our domain to authenticate a certificate. This issue was replicated by ESRI as a result of a support ticket. We are having a similar issue now with the latest version of Collector, except it will not let us in the app at all. Gary, I'm trying to see if any users are having the same issues as us. I have a couple questions for you: Is your Portal behind your firewall or public facing? Ours is behind our firewall Are you using CA signed certificates or domain signed ones? We are using domain signed ones. What version of ArcGIS Server and Portal for ArcGIS are you using? We have Server 10.2.1 and Portal 10.4 Is your Portal federated? Ours is not. I've moved most of my questions to the Beta discussion site. https://community.esri.com/groups/explorer-beta I highly recommend getting on it and testing new versions of the app before it gets put out for general consumption.

I realize that this is probably partly a result of our internal IIS and/or certificate settings. I would like to make clear that the latest version of Collector and the last 10.xx version of Exploer does/did not force a log out using the same settings and certs. Because our Portal is deployed behind our firewall we are using a domain authority to sign our certs. I have worked with ESRI support to try to meet all the necessary requirements (SAN,SHA2) to get this new Explorer app to work with our certificate to no avail. While we are able to login, as soon as the user swipes the app closed they have to go through the login process once again. I believe this may be because we are unable to use a CA signed cert, which to my knowledge is what ESRI does most of their testing with. This does not happen when we access our organizations ArcGIS Online account.

Yes , thank you for your efforts. Please see the results of our testing for the described bugs/issues Software used: ArcGIS Server 10.3.1 Portal for ArcGIS 10.4.1 Non federated Access is non-public using VPN connection. Since this is not a public access portal, we are using Domain signed certs instead of CA certs. Results of my testing of version 17.1.1 issues: - Cannot see or edit visibility of sublayers in Layers list -Sublayers able to be toggled on and off successfully - (BUG-000106698) Webmap Search Settings not honored- For BUG 000106698 I still do not see the Webmap Search settings being honored. - Ranking should return features as top result on search - As a result of the above, features are not being returned as results.
(In addition to this, noticing that many point features are not displaying all popup attributes defined in web map. This is for 10.3.1 services) **Note: Attachments are also not coming through although defined and working in the web map. - Maps: Sort by Date is putting oldest maps at the top -Sort by Date is now putting newest maps on top - (BUG-000106480) Workaround for Popup Details not showing for 10.5 and 10.5.1 services-
unable to test as we are not at 10.5 yet.
However, popups are not working consistantly for our 10.3.1 services either. - Takes a long time to drop a pin with slow rendering layers enabled - Does not appear to be any faster. Still very slow to open map, and clicking for attributes is still very slow. - Sort by Title: Should not be case sensitive - Appears to be working properly

The most recent url is now being retained.

I guess I would have expected an option on this screen to login to our Portal similar to logging into Portal using Collector. When we attempt to use the ArcGIS Enterprise login, it throws a certificate error. I believe this is because logging into the Enterprise account is entirely different than logging into a Portal account.

Thanks for the response. Just tested and opened a support case because we are unable to connect to our Portal for ArcGIS behind our firewall once the app is updated. It works with the old Explorer version 10.2, but throws a certificate error once we update to version 17.1

I was wondering if there are any plans to streamline the Explorer login process for users who are logging into a portal account. I've had a lot of feedback from our end users that the process is not intuitive. That being said, the few users who utilize Collector on a regular basis have no issues. See below.

After working with ESRI support on this, the Garmin Glo works out of the box with Collector, no configuration within the app is required. Just connect the device via Blutooth and open Collector. Because of the data stream the Glo puts out, any further configuration with the Glo will not work. (The Glo is NOT a high accuracy GPS device) Here is the response I received from ESRI regarding the GNSS badge within Collector: "Here is the answer to your question; When using the Integrated Receiver on iOS devices, regardless if the accuracy is coming from an external GPS receiver, its limited to only reporting up to 5 meters. Therefore, the GNSS badge in Collector will only display accuracy up to 5m or the equivalent in feet. Additionally, you will not be able to utilize any of the advance high-accuracy gps capabilities with the Garmin Glo in Collector because it will use the Integrated Receiver on iOS to connect with Collector. For example :You will not be able to use location profiles(required for collecting data in a projection that is not in Web mercator) and be able to collect any of the GPS metadata." Follow up on this topic for anyone interested. Pairing certain low accuracy external gps devices (tested the Garmin Glo) can be done simply by connecting via bluetooth without configuring the connection in Collector. We then attempted to connect a Trimble Pro6H with NMEA and Floodlight activated. We had to purchase the AMAN enterprises NMEA-BT unit to send the gps stream to Collector. You then have to download an app called NMEA Talker and configure it. After that go through the Collector settings menu to change the provider and configure your Location Profile. This worked very well for us. We tied into a local RTK subscription service and were able to see better than submeter quality data. Two downsides, one is that Collector does not seem to like to report better than 12.3' of horizontal accuracy. We have to perform more testing to quantify this. Second was with the Pro6H unit itself. We found out that upon powering the Trimble unit down, the NMEA output is toggled off. So if an end user planned to use it for the day, they would have to connect the Trimble unit to their desktop and enable the NMEA string again. This is an inconvenience for now, but limits our end users to qualified GPS/GIS field crew members.
