Problems with version 17.1

I've encountered two major issues with the new version:

1. Identifying features doesn't work. When I click on a feature to open the attribute pane, the field names are all displayed but none of the attribute values.

2. My organization's web mercator projected ortho basemap will not display.

Not a "problem", but the removal of the magnifying glass is a step backwards.

Edit: Please disregard problem #2.

Hey Robert,

In regards to the following, can you send me a screenshot of the dialog you're seeing? ( jwhitney@esri.com )

Thanks,

Joel

- IWA portal URLs not being added to the recent portal URL list on the portal Sign in screen -

I realize that this is probably partly a result of our internal IIS and/or certificate settings. I would like to make clear that the latest version of Collector and the last 10.xx version of Exploer does/did not force a log out using the same settings and certs. Because our Portal is deployed behind our firewall we are using a domain authority to sign our certs. I have worked with ESRI support to try to meet all the necessary requirements (SAN,SHA2) to get this new Explorer app to work with our certificate to no avail. While we are able to login, as soon as the user swipes the app closed they have to go through the login process once again. I believe this may be because we are unable to use a CA signed cert, which to my knowledge is what ESRI does most of their testing with.

This does not happen when we access our organizations ArcGIS Online account.

See attached. We have server 10.3.1, portal 10.4.1 (Not federated), and our web adaptors all behind our firewall. All users either have to be within our network or use VPN to access out network. I believe the certificate error is due to the type of certificate. We are using a domain cert since a CA cannot access our domain to authenticate a certificate. This issue was replicated by ESRI as a result of a support ticket. We are having a similar issue now with the latest version of Collector, except it will not let us in the app at all. Hopefully there can be some communication between the development teams.

Have you tried installing the root certificate on your iOS device?

I know that this can help address this problem as it tells the iOS system "we trust this server"

We have not. We may try it as a test on one device, but it doesn't really seem like a viable option for 100 devices without a good MDM program.

Further testing using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS server 10.1

We are still seeing issues with the popups and the attachments not showing. This is not just affecting our Portal site.

So in 17.1.1 the group layers appear to be working. Doing feature searches still don’t work. I’ve also noticed that the date fields show up incorrectly. That’s new to this update. I’m also still noticing that at times, it takes unusually long to get the popup to come up.

Hi Robb,

For the Date format issue. Did this layer you are identifying on happen to be a 10.5 or 10.5.1 layer that previously ran into the popup issue in 17.1.0?  We've seen this formatting issue with our workaround that we have in the current Beta, and we're investigating this.

Thanks,

Heather

It is happening with a 10.5.1 layer.

17.1.1 - URL Scheme: Support box application - CONFIRMED! Thank you so much for including this one! Will really add to our existing workflow.  Do you happen to know if this would be accounted for in Collector as well? Or happen to know anyone from their team I could make this request to be included as well? Would be nice if apps were white-listed across all ESRI apps.

As a side note, I have to agree with Robert Harris that the data is taking a long time for the pop-up to load.  While Explorer loads the spatial representations of our data much faster than Collector, the pop-up window appears to spin for 10-20 seconds before opening, which is much slower than Collector.  Collector loads the spatial representations much slower, but the pop-up loads nearly instant.
