I believe I have discovered the issue. It appears that using the halo in the label was causing the crashes for us. ESRI is in the process of validating that as a bug. When I turned off the halo in the label everything went back to normal.

How do you set that property for a Map Service published to ArcGIS for Server and consumed in ArcGIS Online?

Tom, Were you able to make any progress? I'm having the same issue on my iPad. It is ok with a feature service or a layer from a map service, but a Map Service is next to impossible.

I'm having similar issues on my iPad 2 with iOS 9.2. If I have feature layers with more the a couple of hundred features, it crashes and reloads the page to the default extent.

Seth / Sumant / Antonio, We are getting the same error when editing in ArcMap or ArcGIS Online to a SQL server database. Did you find any long term resolution besides restarting the SQL server? ESRI support pointed us to this knowledge base http://support.esri.com/en/knowledgebase/techarticles/detail/43036, but enabled CLR is likely not an option because we are using a shared database instance.

Robert, Thanks for the help. I neglected to mention that I'm using WebApp Builder that is hosted by ArcGIS online. Would I still be able to access that .json file?

I have to change the URL of our Query widgets to point to a new ArcGIS for Server installation. When I set a new URL all of the configuration settings disappear. Is there a way to update the service URL without having to rebuild the widget?

I figured out the code to change the allow geometry updates. This line configProps = doc.getElementsByTagName('Props')[0] need to be configProps = doc.getElementsByTagName('Props')[1] because the Props tag exists twice in the XML file.

Micah, The help documentation about changing to a feature service appears to be applicable to ArcGIS Online hosted services. I got the following to work for ArcGIS Server: #Enable FeatureServer soe = 'FeatureServer' typeNames = doc.getElementsByTagName('TypeName') for typeName in typeNames: if typeName.firstChild.data == soe: extension = typeName.parentNode for extElement in extension.childNodes: if extElement.tagName =='Enabled': extElement.firstChild.data ='true' #Enable overwrite existing service tagsType = doc.getElementsByTagName('Type') for tagType in tagsType: if tagType.parentNode.tagName == 'SVCManifest': if tagType.hasChildNodes(): tagType.firstChild.data = "esriServiceDefinitionType_Replacement" tagsState = doc.getElementsByTagName('State') for tagState in tagsState: if tagState.parentNode.tagName == 'SVCManifest': if tagState.hasChildNodes(): tagState.firstChild.data = "esriSDState_Published" # Turn off Allow Geometry Updates configProps = doc.getElementsByTagName('Props')[0] propArray = configProps.firstChild propSets = propArray.childNodes for propSet in propSets: keyValues = propSet.childNodes for keyValue in keyValues: if keyValue.tagName == 'Key': if keyValue.firstChild.data == "allowGeometryUpdates": keyValue.nextSibling.firstChild.data = "False" # Get all the value tags. values = doc.getElementsByTagName('Value') for value in values: if value.hasChildNodes(): # Change the default WebCapabilities from 'Query,Create,Update,Delete,Uploads,Editing' to just 'Query'. if value.firstChild.data == 'Query,Create,Update,Delete,Uploads,Editing': value.firstChild.data = 'Query,Update,Uploads,Editing' However, the Turn off Allow Geometry Updates does not work. I can change it manually in the sddraft file, but that code does not edit the XML. Do you have any thoughts on what part should be changed to find the allowGeometryUpdates property.

I'm getting this error message trying to stage the service via python. It works fine if I just create a MapService, but when I add the following python to change it to feature service, I get this error: #overwrite existing service tagsType = doc.getElementsByTagName('Type') for tagType in tagsType: if tagType.parentNode.tagName == 'SVCManifest': if tagType.hasChildNodes(): tagType.firstChild.data = "esriServiceDefinitionType_Replacement" tagsState = doc.getElementsByTagName('State') for tagState in tagsState: if tagState.parentNode.tagName == 'SVCManifest': if tagState.hasChildNodes(): tagState.firstChild.data = "esriSDState_Published" # Turn off caching configProps = doc.getElementsByTagName('ConfigurationProperties')[0] propArray = configProps.firstChild propSets = propArray.childNodes for propSet in propSets: keyValues = propSet.childNodes for keyValue in keyValues: if keyValue.tagName == 'Key': if keyValue.firstChild.data == "isCached": keyValue.nextSibling.firstChild.data = "false" #Create Feature Service # Change service type from map service to feature service typeNames = doc.getElementsByTagName('TypeName') for typeName in typeNames: if typeName.firstChild.data == "MapServer": typeName.firstChild.data = "FeatureServer" # Turn on feature access capabilities configProps = doc.getElementsByTagName('Info')[0] propArray = configProps.firstChild propSets = propArray.childNodes for propSet in propSets: keyValues = propSet.childNodes for keyValue in keyValues: if keyValue.tagName == 'Key': if keyValue.firstChild.data == "WebCapabilities": keyValue.nextSibling.firstChild.data = "Query,Update" It also works ok, if I creating the staging file through Share as Service through ArcMap.

Yes, I'm using 10.3.1 for ArcMap and Server for ArcGIS. I called support on this issue as well. They have a copy of the model for testing. They probably will associate those two bugs with my case.

The final output in the model is an in memory geodatabase table. The widget is set to add as an operational layer and then we export the attribute table to a CSV. In ArcMap, there is no issue in seeing the domain descriptions just in ArcGIS Online.

I built a simple GP tool that I published to ArcGIS server that lets the user draw a polygon and it does a spatial join to find points within it. The points is a feature class in our SDE database with some coded value domains. That last step is table to table to convert to data table. I set the fields environment to transfer field name descriptions. When I run the tool through Web App Builder as a GP Widget, I'm getting the coded values in my output instead of the descriptions. Thanks for any help.

Below is the code I ended up using with some help from Tech Support. This goes in the code block: total = 0 LocationID = 0 def accumulate(locID, Inc): global total, LocationID if locID != LocationID: total = 0 LocationID = locID if total: total = total*Inc else: total = Inc return total In the expression I use accumulate(!LocationID!,!IncField!) The LocationID is my grouping Field and the IncField is the one that gets multiplied together.
