@codethemap - sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue.  I've reviewed 16 Esri Support cases with similar issues regarding the "Splitting Line Features failed" error message.  One theme constant in the cases resolved is they created a brand new *.aprx and inserted a new map view to add the branch versioned data to.  They then proceeded with the split workflow and reported no new issues.  Try this workflow and let me know your results - we'll go from there.  Thank you! ... @NicolasGIS - I looked into this question again and tested on my parent enterprise geodatabases as well.  When creating a one-way replica, the attachments do "copy" over to the child enterprise geodatabase just fine BUT the archive class does not.  I verified this looking into PGAdmin at the gisowner scheme in the child enterprise geodatabase.  I can see the tables for the attachments but not the _h table for the archive class.  Furthermore, there was an ENH-000134153 - Allow historical data to be copied along with archived feature class when moved between geodatabases created a while ago that's under Technical Review by the ArcGIS Pro Development Team.  So no solution to my knowledge. ... I've seen this "CIMPATH=" item before in the geoprocessing pane when I leave the GP tool open from a previous run in association with me deleting the input feature/table from the Map View.  The previously run GP tool no longer sees the input parameter and replaces it with the "CIMPATH=" item.  Is this what you're seeing too or another workflow? ... In a previous Esri Support Case, there was a similar issue to yours where one of the feature classes had empty geometry for the feature.  They ran the Repair Geometry GP tool to fix the issue and this seemed to correct the legend crashing issue they were experiencing.  I'd recommend running that first on your feature classes participating in the map view and try to add a new legend to your layout.  Does the issue persist? ... @TeresaA  - so I'm seeing this as well in ArcGIS Pro 3.5.  I "think" it's the way the editing panes are configured for creating/updating features.  If, after editing and saving, you click the View core tab and in the Windows group, click the drop down for Pane Sets and select Mapping, then this behavior goes away.  Still very strange though... ...
