We have a project template that our Pro users use to start new projects. The template includes a toolbox stored on a shared network drive that we all have access to.
When a user starts a new project using this template, Pro appears to have included the shared toolbox (the name and path are correct in the screenshot below), but the toolbox is now empty:
If I go to that shared toolbox location, it turns out that Pro has created a new toolbox in the same location with the name of my new project (New Project Name.tbx below), and all the tools from the default toolbox are there in that new toolbox. Yet the new toolbox is not in my project (this screenshot is from the Computer tab of the Catalog pane).
So it's as if instead of just adding the default toolbox to my project, it renames the default toolbox with my project name, then creates a new empty toolbox with the default toolbox name and includes that useless empty toolbox as the default in my project.
Has anyone else encountered this? For now, we're sharing the template without toolboxes to avoid this issue. I know I should probably file a support ticket but I already have two open and don't have time to deal with another.
@HollyTorpey_LSA - what release of ArcGIS Pro are you running? The reason I ask is there is:
BUG-000166170- When sharing the project as a project template, toolboxes are not retained even when selecting the option of include toolboxes.
BUG-000171484 (duplicate of BUG-000166170) - ArcGIS Pro project templates do not include a toolbox when the source ArcGIS Pro project folder is accessed via a network drive.
It shows that these BUGs were fixed at 3.5
Thanks for checking. We're using 3.5.3.
Certainly! I know you have 2 other support tickets running but you should likely add this to the bundle. I don't see any other items within the internals for this item.
