Why is it that Esri does not mention GCP on their "ArcGIS Enterprise in the cloud" website (https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/cloud/)? Is it just because Esri and Google are competitors in the mapping market? Or does Esri think there are advantages to running AGE on AWS and Azure? Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Triggers in Portal are called webhooks but the documentation does not list a trigger for updating a value in the related table - https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/create-and-manage-webhooks.htm

What are you using for an RDBMS? I am not a DBA but you can define triggers in your RDBMS to do calculations - https://docs.oracle.com/cd/B13789_01/appdev.101/b10795/adfns_tr.htm

I found it with a Google search - "ArcGIS Server log analysis". I figured somebody must have created a tool for ArcGIS Server log analysis so I went looking for it. Bernie.

Hi - I have not tried this myself but I think you should be able to use the Experience Builder to combine a simple dashboard app with a map viewer app. Good luck, Bernie.

@stevegourley You are right, an IP address is useless. I meant to say I used the referrer URL. I was able to use the referrer URL to find several poorly configured Web AppBuilder sites that were sending long running queries for simple Parcel ID searches. The referrer URL included the AGOL item ID so I was able to find the apps and contact several municipal GIS teams to help them make corrections to the search widget config. Thanks for sharing the SGID links. They were very informative. And it does not look like you have a communication problem. Your github repo is a great tool to document changes to your datasets and services - but you cannot force your users to read it 😉 Bernie.

@CynthiaKozma When we first started using a raster tile cache for orthophotos in 2009 we had similar problems trying to use cache on demand. In the end our solution was to cache the entire orthophoto dataset at all scales. It is a huge job for us because our jurisdiction, the province of New Brunswick, covers ~72,000 km^2. This does help simplify the cache building process but it increases the time to generate the tiles. After the caching is completed you must do a lot of visual QC on the tiles and pan through all of your scale levels looking for missing tiles and other artifacts and then re-cache the affected areas / scales. And repeat. And Repeat... Bernie.

Are you using a web adaptor? You should be able to filter your web adaptor logs for records that include your deleted map services. Those records will include the ip address of the user trying to access the deleted map service. I have used this method to find users trying to connect to a deleted map service. I have also used the web adaptor logs to find long running requests and help my users create more efficient queries. But that's not really your problem. You have a communication problem. You need to do a better job communicating with your users. We have created a process for retiring a map service. Step one is tell your users that a service is being retired on a certain date. Step two you remove the data from the map service and replace it with a single polygon with a label that says this service is being retired and possibly the url of a replacement map service. Keep this message in place for several months and then finally delete the map service and block traffic to the deleted map service. Bernie.

Can I publish a vector tile package WITHOUT using Portal or AGOL? Or is the use of one or the other required? We currently run ArcGIS Server 10.7.1 but we have not deployed Portal. Thanks, Bernie.

Yes, that is right. We do it 5 days a week with our parcel data. We connect to the service from ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, and multiple web apps published via ArcGIS Online: https://geonb.snb.ca/arcgis/rest/services/GeoNB_SNB_Parcels/MapServer However, I should add that our Land Registry Office only provides us with a simple polygon feature class exported from the parcel fabric. We use the polygon feature class as the source for our parcel map service. You could build this into your process and update the polygon feature class from your parcel fabric with an automated process. Bernie.

@Anonymous User I suggest you publish an additional service that uses your parcel fabric as the source data. Assuming you are publishing the service from ArcMap you only need to enable the capability for "Mapping": I beleive the above image shows the default capabilities. There is no harm in leaving the KML capability enabled. Without the "Feature Access" capability there is no possibility of editing the data. Good luck, Bernie.

Dave, Is it possible that your python script is having trouble accessing the address feature class because the address feature service is also accessing the same feature class? To rule this out perhaps the first step in your python script should be to make a copy of the address feature class within the enterprise geodatabase. Or, if possible, stop the address feature service before you attempt to copy the data. Bernie.
