Correct me if I'm wrong, but if your halo is transparent, it would be ineffective. You can set the halo to No Color: It might be more useful to set the halo to the same color as the buildings or even the basemap?

The symbols you're describing sounds like symbols which are part of the default ArcMap symbology and can be accessed from the symbol selector:

If your data have been projected into a #projected coordinate system you should have no problem doing the math. All #gpx files I've worked with include a timestamp for each time the receiver picked up the #gnss signal, typically 1/second. Since you know the location at a point in time, and you know the distance traveled, to solve for speed you divide the distance (miles or km) by the time (hours). If you need specific help with the steps, please PM me.

Easy solution would be to implicitly associate the structures to the line using Select by Location. Create your relationship class using your primary (LineID on the Transmission Line feature class) and foreign key (LineID on the Structures feature class), then Select by Location from Structures that are within distance X from your transmission line. Field calculate the Transmission line's primary key into the foreign key attribute of your Structures, and then you should be set. Of course you will always run the risk of associating the line to incorrect structures and vice versa if you have coincident lines, so YMMV.

Thanks you Darren Wiens for providing the logic! I'm using the Sort tool to bring the .csv into scratch.gdb ready to be populated with the counts using your logic. Many thanks again!

I'm trying to create a cumulative count of IDs by Date in a field called Count. For example, with these 3 IDs highlighted below, the results of Count would be 1, 2 and 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated. *edit - in the screenshot above the IDs have been sorted to be grouped.

Here's the solution I came up with - create a new annotation class with the appropriate color, font and typeface. I extract from PROD into this target annotation class, and then convert to .dwg. Problem solved.

If I understand you correctly, you're wanting to create a selection, and then export the results to .xls. Here's how I would do it: # Import libary import arcpy from arcpy import env # Set variables yourworkspace = "path to your workspace" yourfeatureclass = "path to your feature class" outputlocation = "path to your output folder" arcpy.env.workspace = yourworkspace # Make Layer arcpy.MakeFeatureLayer_management (yourfeatureclass, "featureclasslayer") # Create selection arcpy.SelectLayerByAttribute_management ("featureclasslayer", "NEW_SELECTION" ["build your selection criteria here"]) # Copy the results of your selection to a new feature class arcpy.CopyFeatures_management ("featureclasslayer", "yourselectedfeatures") # Export to Excel TableToExcel_conversion ("yourselectedfeatures", "yourexcefilename.xls") # Finish raise SystemExit(0)

Thanks Mr. Patterson. To answer your question, it's the former...but as I understand it, the graphics information are stored in the BLOB field. Ideally I really just want to change the color of all annotation to white or grey. Thanks for your insight.

I'd like help accessing the annotation fc's color property via python. Use case: We're trying to leverage the Esri annotation in a CAD product. CAD has a black background which matches our anno, which means that the anno is currently invisible on import to CAD. I'd like to modify the anno to white/grey pre-exporting so it'll be visible on import to CAD. We're working with thousands of records and I'd like to automate this export, so editing these individually is out of the question. I look forward to hearing from the community. Happy 4th of July

I'd like to use a cursor to iterate through a bunch of rows. If a valid value (not blank, not null) is encountered, skip the row and move on to the next row. If a blank or null is encountered, then insert the value found in the row directly above. Here at the top of the table the cursor will identify valid values and will skip and updates, but immediately in row 2, it'll identify nulls and will update the row with the values above, in this case (T10144, 480 and 150 respectively). Further down in the table the cursor will identify that the value in the row it is not blank and not null. It'll skip the update on this row, but immediately on the next row it'll update using the values above.

In Pro the workflow is to create your layout, then use the Insert -> Graphics: You can modify the line feature to include arrowheads.
