Hi mfet_glory, I don't know if you resolved this question already, it's been a while. I reply, because I just stumbled upon the same issue. At least for the time and digits, you have to specify this in the Web Map Pop Up. -> Open the layer (or table) pop up, click on "configure attributes". Even if you have a custom attribute display, these configurations are reflected. Best, Annina

Hi Jack Cibor I hope I understand your use case well. Did you try the Query widget (instead of the filter) for your "extra data sources"? You will not be able to have the two in the same Infographic Widget, but need to create one for the total (based on the entire FS) and one for the query result. Would this answer your request? Inspired by How To: Add an image at the top of pop-up windows in ArcGIS Online, I'm trying to configure a pop up (customised html attribute display). The data contains several images (as online links), but not all features have all images to display. So I packed the img tag into an object tag, give a width-size and a title to the object: <object data="{Layer1}" style="width:230px;" title="0-15m" type="image/jpg">
<img src="{Layer1}" />
</object>
<object data="{Layer2}" style="width:230px;" title="0-15m" type="image/jpg">
<img src="{Layer2}" />
</object>
... It all works fine in the webmap, images are well aligned, no horizontal scrollbar, title shows up on mouse over and there is no "broken" image display (just a little empty space), if img src is empty: Going to my web app (online Web AppBuilder launchpad theme), there are broken images (where src is empty), the width is ignored and the title doesn't show up. It seems that WAB doesn't recognise the <object>-tag. Another solution would be to hide img tags with empty src with some css: <head>
<style>
img[src=""] {
display: none;
}
</style>
</head> This even makes the empty space disappear in the web map pop up, but displays in WAB like: Finally this happens: I close the webmap completely, and open it again. Now the pop up is "messed" up like the one in WAB, and looking at the code, the <head> and <style> tags are gone and the img[src=""] is replaced by img[src=""], and with the first solution, the <object> tags have vanished. Guess I have to abandon this, but anyway thanks in advance for any hint, Annina Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS

That's what I was afraid of... For the moment, I keep a txt file with the expressions and a html file for the pop up for editing, and then copy it to AGOL. A bit tedious, but feasible, while waiting for your improvements! 🙂

Hi Kelly Gerrow Thanks for this! Amazing what you can do with Arcade... I have just a question: Is there a way to write a script for "hiding" several attributes at once or do I have to write an expression for each of them? Or if not, is there a way to "upload" expressions? Would be useful if there are many attributes to hide conditionally. Thanks a lot for your help, Annina

Hi Doug, Thanks for checking. I guess I found the reason, why the entire description appears only for FGDC/ArcGIS Metadata format, but not for the other standards even in pure XML of e.g. ISO 19139 (contrarily as I said in my first post). I inquired a little further, and it seems that the description of the attributes is not directly part of the ISO 19115 Standard, but the ISO 19110 (MD_FeatureCatalogue) can be used (with the ISO 19139 encoding Standard: http://www.isotc211.org/2005/gfc/gfc.xsd ) to describe the data model (ISO 19110 (Feature Catalog) - NOAA Environmental Data Management Wiki ). ArcGIS Metadata Format allows to describe the fields, independently of which Standard you choose in ArcCatalog Options. They are matched to FGDC, but NOT to the ISO Implementation Standard. My question is therefore: Why does ArcCatalog when set to an ISO Standard allow to describe the fields, when they are not rendered afterwards? I will inquire further, and share the information as soon as I get them. iso 19139 iso 19115

This question is about 3 years old, but as far as I know, it is still not possible to take a map offline, if it contains a Feature Service that is not editable. Our customer has the following use case: - An editable layer to collect features - Admin boundaries, parcels etc. are non-editable, coming from another organisation/custodian, but are essential for orientation and data collection. -> The currently only option is to re-publish the data as editable and then disable editing in the webmap (or create tilepackages to load on the devices, which requires storage...). This is not always an option, because these might be huge datasets and the custodian might not allow to republish. And in addition it consumes credits for nothing. Is there a plan to allow non-editable feature services in an offline webmap? Thanks, Annina collector offline map

Doug, Your screenshot looks a lot like ISO/FGDC. Can you quickly check under "Customize" -> "Metadata"-Tab, and see which standard is selected? In the ISO-Standard, the values for the "Attributes Information" are added automatically under "Fields", but you might also have to complete some information there to get rid of all the "red x". Lineage becomes mandatory, when you entered something in the data quality. So you need to provide a statement under Lineage, or delete everything in the Data Quality class. But if you don't bother about "valid" metadata according to the selected Standard, the red x's are not blocking the export/upload/publishing of metadata. In any case, and independent of how you show your metadata in ArcCatalog, it is stored in the internal format. This allows to export/transform it into different standards afterwards. To get an XML in the ArcGIS (internal) Standard (in order to be able to open it in the metadata editor of ArcGIS online), I do the following: If the data (with complete metadata) is stored as shapefile, you have the xx.shp.xml already in the right format. If the data is stored in a gdb, you get the metadata.xml by using the XSLT-Transformation tool and select the XSLT "exact copy of.xslt" in the \Metadata\Stylesheets\gpTools of your ArcGIS Directory. In ArcGIS online, go to the item description, click on the metadata button to open the editor. there choose "open" and select your metadata.xml All the metadata should be loaded and you can save and close. (The attributes figure in the "fields"-tab.) This metadata is then also be accessible from your Open Data Site, but you are right, the attribute information does not appear by clicking on the metadata-link in the open data item details. It seems that it is not part of the "default" format and output parameters. If you remove format & output from the URL and just keep "//path/to/item/metadata/metadata.xml", you will get all your fields in the ArcGIS Standard, if you want it in ISO (pure xml only), you add ?format=ISO19139 to the url (without the "output"). Does this answer your question? What I don't know, if there is a possibility to customise the html output... Best, Annina PS: I learned myself a lot about how ArcGIS handles metadata, by trying to answer your question 😉

Hi Doug, can you send a screenshot of your metadata in ArcCatalog? Which metadata standard template are you using? ISO? FGDC? Could you also provide a screenshot with the differences in the edit-mode and view-mode? There are several types of mandatory or conditionally mandatory elements in these standards. For instance: The Lineage-class is not mandatory by itself (you can completely remove that class and still get valid metadata), but once you open the class, at least a description has to be provided. To get rid of the red x, you'll have to provide either a description or remove the lineage completely. For moving your message: I guess it should be you to edit your message and moving the question to the other space. Best, Annina agol metadata metadata arccatalog publish metadata editing metadata

Thank you, Courtney, for your prompt reply. I do not have the same icons you do, for me it looks like this: I get this, when I log in into "opendata.arcgis.com" as Open Data Admin. I have upgraded my site from V1. I'll send you the link by e-mail. Best, Annina

Hi, I just upgraded our Open Data Site to V2 with a new name. I want to keep it private until the adjustments are finalised. Just out of curiosity I tried to access it with my phone, and even without being logged in to agol/opendata, the site is fully loaded. So I tried the same on Desktop with a new browser, the site shows up as well. That's not what I expect for a site being private... Or does "private" simply mean something like "accessible when knowing the link"? Thank you.

Already figured out some things thanks to: http://deepcustom-andrew.opendata.arcgis.com/ The custom styles are not visible in the editor, only once it's published. The new editor is quite convenient, but I miss some things: For the query (category) offer the combination of keywords, allow AND, OR as AGOL search does (see also my comment here: Multiple tags for Category in Open Data) Be able to adjust the size of the category cards (for us they are way too big): Add a text card with: <style> .category-panel .category-icon {width: 60px; height: 60px;} <style> Be able to define a max width of images (for now its ok as long as you are not on a mobile screen, but then the size of the images are not adjusted anymore): Tip: It helps having all your images of one row in the same size, but you can adjust the %: <style> .img-responsive {max-width:50%} <style> The option to hide a row, before removing it permanently Change the icons of the gallery items, reduce the size Questions for the gallery card: Do I understand it right that only the most recent apps/maps (of a specified group) are shown, according to the defined number? Wouldn't it be possible to show the thumbnail of the item instead of the default icons? Also here, for us these cards take too much space, the font is too big meaning nearly all the titles are truncated Thank you for consideration, Annina

I'd love to see this too. Unfortunately I can't vote up as a distributor. It would be even greater to allow the "q=" parameter to get access to all the search options AGOL allows. Something like: q="industry OR construction". arcgis open data 2.0 search option category open data site
