Xander Bakker We're now on Portal 10.6 and are able to able to configure Popups in Pro (I'm on version 4.2.3) and have them propagate to our Portal. However in custom attributes in the popups, the Arcade TextFormatting.NewLine works fine in Pro but doesn't seem to be honored in Portal. Do you know of any fix for this? Is it a known bug?

When a layer is used twice in a map (e.g. in the attached example, it's in the map twice, but sourced from different Versions), when using a geoprocessing tool, there needs to be a way to tell which of the layers is being used in the tool. The geoprocessing tool GUI appends a number to the duplicate layer name to make them unique, but this number doesn't get added to the name in the Contents pane, for instance, or in the Attribute Table heading. So in the example attached, I don't know whether to choose gis.sde.GPSLocDev:1 or gis.sde.GPSLocDev:2 in order to choose the layer that has 9 records selected. I realize the user can get around this by proactively re-naming the layers, but since the tool automatically handles adding the number to create unique names, it would be helpful if the names would be made to correlate in other parts of the GUI.

Would love to have an answer to this question. Since enabling editor tracking in our Enterprise database (using database time) we are unable to get the arcpy.StageService_server command to run successfully. We can publish a map just fine via the ArcGIS Pro GUI (with time set to UTC-08:00 and the Daylight savings time box checked). But when we try to automate this using a script, it fails every time with the following error: arcgisscripting.ExecuteError: ERROR 001272: Analyzer errors were encountered ([{"code":"00129","message":"Map has layers and tables that record Editor Tracking dates in database time zone, but time zone has not been defined","object":"Viewer - Meter Reading"}]). Failed to execute (StageService).

Because there was an “enable background geoprocessing" checkbox (which was checked) in ArcMap – which I since uninstalled. And also because my FME workspaces are failing to translate our SDE data since the addition of Attribute Rules. And per FME folks, having BGGP installed causes this problem.

How do we know I had version 10.3.1 of Desktop Background Geoprocessing? I don't know where to find the setup files from that date. On the MyESRI page, there's only one version of it available for download (for 10.4 Desktop) and it's undated. Also, if I reinstall it (though apparently it's already installed), is that what will make it appear in the Programs and Features - from where I can then presumably uninstall it?

Laurene Koman I need to uninstall just Background GP. (We're been advised that, for Safe's FME data translations to be able to translate our SDE data, we need to uninstall it.) I didn't even realize it was installed but I see there's an enable checkbox for it so apparently it's installed. However Background GP isn't listed in Programs and Features. So I don't know how to go about uninstalling it and haven't been able to find documentation on uninstalling it. For now, I'm trying uninstalling ArcGIS Desktop 10.6.1 and hoping that will help me get towards the goal. While that uninstall is running, could you point me to what my next step should be to uninstall BGGP please?

Regarding the database connections list in Catalog in Pro (under the Databases heading), to make it easier to navigate and ensure the user can readily access the data they need, it would be helpful to have some options whereby the user could sort the database connections by database or database type or could color-code the connection names (and everything listed under them) by the database, the database type and maybe even who the connection connects as. In my database connections list (shown in the attachment), I have connections to development SDE database versions, production SDE database versions and some file geodatabases. There are feature classes/tables in each and multiple feature datasets in the SDE databases. So, in particular when a database in the list is expanded, it's a bit difficult to navigate to find the data I want to access. Perhaps there are best-practices that I'm not following in relation to how many databases to have listed. But even if that's the case, I think this would still be helpful.

I have a map with two feature layers, one of which has nine layers. I'd like to remove the nine-layer feature layer from this map - not delete it altogether. And I'd rather not have to remove each of the nine layers individually.

I only observed it between these two versions. We had about four child versions directly under Default (one of which was the xlate version which I was trying to reconcile Default with) and about five versions under that xlate. I was attempting to do that as the owner of the version and the geodatabase (sde). I ended up just deleting the xlate version and its child versions and re-doing the work in order to solve the problem.

Actually, it's still not working for me (mistakenly thought it was for a minute there). And I think what you're referring to is something different (the description of the domain itself). I'm trying to get the description for a code to display. My arcade popup expression is as follows. The material field uses a coded domain. So for instance, code "AC" has a description of "Asbestos Cement" and that's what I want displayed, but it's displaying "AC". Var st = $feature.status IIf(st=="Existing", $feature.diameter + '" ' + $feature.material + " - Project " + $feature.project + '(' + year($feature.date_activated) + ')', IIF(st=="Proposed", $feature.status + " " + $feature.diameter + '" ' + $feature.material + " - Project " + $feature.project + '(' + year($feature.date_activated) + ')', $feature.status + " " + $feature.diameter + '" ' + $feature.material + " - by Project " + $feature.abandonment_prj ) )

Thanks Ken. I was using the attribute in a Concatenate function and I've since realized that when not used inside a Concatenate function, the attribute appears to display the Description and not the code. So I'm think I'm good.
