Tweed, There is no restriction for installing ArcGIS Desktop on the same machine where ArcGIS Enterprise has been implemented. Just ensure that your machine meets the optimum system requirements and you should be good to go. Please refer: ArcGIS Desktop 10.5.x system requirements—System Requirements | ArcGIS Desktop I hope this helps! ~Shan

Stephen, Thanks for answering the questions. What version of ArcGIS Pro was used to create the address locator? The geodatabase which contains the feature class, was it also created using ArcGIS Pro? Just a side note when you use the address locator for geocoding addresses it only accepts address as an input you will be be able to set specific fields as output. You may refer Geocode Addresses—Help | ArcGIS Desktop ~Shan

Stephen, It will be great if you can provide the following information. How was the address locator created? What address locator style is used for this address locator? Apart from viewing the properties are you able to geocode addresses? Is your address locator stored within a database or in a file folder? If it is a database what kind of a database are you using to store it in? If you are storing the address locator in a file folder the address locator accessible locally on your machine? ~Shan

Glad, Are you working with ArcGIS Desktop or consuming the service in some application? Are you referring the ArcGIS Online basemaps? AGOL basemaps are available with WGS 1984 Web Mercator (Auxiliary Sphere) WKID 102100 and this available as read only for all user globally. Hence we cannot permanently project the basemaps to another spatial reference, however, you can change the projection of the basemap by changing on-the-fly projection ArcMap data frame properties (If viewed in ArcGIS Desktop) or can be changed from code side (is it is being consumed in some application) I hope this helps! ~Shan

Hannes, Can you try publishing a different hosted map service to AGOL with just one single layer? When ArcGIS Desktop is installed it creates a TemplateData.gdb which is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\ArcGIS\Desktop10.5\TemplateData. This particular geodatabase has some sample feature classes which can be used to perform this test. You may use any feature class from this geodatabase for this. Also you can monitor ArcGIS Online Health Dashboard I hope this helps! ~Shan

I understand that you are trying to publish a map service from arcgis desktop 10.4.1 to arcgis server 10.4.1 and that is when you receive the error message. Can you check if the publishing tool available in the System > PublishingTools is running. If it is running try to publish a sample map service and check if it throws the same error message. ~Shan
