Hello all, I have a couple of questions on utilizing Geotrace question. I tried to capture the line features that are created by points in repeat, but it did not seem working with webform unfortunately (my questions is here). My intention was creating flight paths based on city names/locations that users enter. Since the main dataset I need is line features, I decided to go with geotrace directly that will ask users to create lines. However, creating line maybe tricky for new users, for example users may click more than needed. To prevent this, is there any way that I can limit the number of vertices that users enter? I am also wondering if there is any way that I can extract the x, y of the location that users click, and create point features as related table. For example, the first click location is passed as 'origin' and the second click as 'destination'. Cheers, K

Hello Zachary Sutherby I found the sample form and published it after modifying for my use case. However, the survey is hanging while creating a line feature. I removed 'null' from esri field type for both point in the repeat and line because I wanted to capture them as geometry. If I submit while the map is hanging, all other information and points are passed to feature layer, but line feature is not there. I am not sure if I missed anything in the setting part or somewhere else. I am using Survey123 connect 3.10, and using it on the web browser (the survey needs to be embedded in experience builder, so no other choice). Any advice? K P.S. I just did a testing with a mobile phone and it worked fine.. so this functionality would not work for web forms? Is there any work-around?

I have the same problem today with a super simple survey. I usually use Connect and it was my first time using Web designer version.. so I was not sure where to look at. Is there any update on what causes this issue? Thanks. K

Hello Zhifang, Could you confirm if your suggestion would work for a viewer account, or it has to be a creator? I have a client who has a viewer account but it seems export function is prohibited. Cheers, K

Hello Phil, I published it with Connector 3.10 on windows 10. The survey form and its content was copied from 3.7 xlsx and I added the additional syntax. I will send my xlsx form to ''survey123@esri.com' shortly. Thank you! K

Hello all, I tried a syntax for 'one image question with multiple photos' that was introduced during UC with Connect 3.10 version, but it does not seem working yet. Is it part of 3.10 new features or the later version? The name of photo label is 'multiPhoto' and I used 'count-selected(${multiPhoto})<4' in constraint and 'multiline' in appearance. Also method=camera in esri body style does not seem reflected. Could you anyone advise if I miss anything? Cheers, K

Hello all, I think there was a demo during UC or maybe on this page that shows how line/polygon features can be created by the collection of multiple geopoint questions. Can anyone show me where I can find the information? or share some tips? I'd like to create a survey that asks users to enter origin/destination points of the flight route, and then creates a line representing the flight path based on two input points. Cheers, K

Hello James, Yes, I created the view layer by using 'Join' on AGO Map viewer. The main feature layer's attachment is true, but the related table that I used for join has false for its attachment. Not sure what else I can check it, I will contact my local support. Thanks! K

Hello James, Thank you for your quick response. I tried Inbox with address point that has additional fields for the inspection related information, and had the following challenges. 1. There maybe the new building/ units that do not exist in the current address points. Then, user need to conduct the survey under 'Collect', but not able to fill-out address related information correctly due to limited time or typo. ==> I think this is less concern now if we can use custom basemap. If I set up parcel/point layer with address label, user can type the new address information more accurately. 2. One address point may be used more than one time in a short-time period, especially during the emergency season. We do not want to overwrite the collected information. So I hoped to find a way to use an address reference layer which can provide the geometry and address information into a new feature layer used in the survey. I currently use Collector for this workflow - address point + related table (inspection information only, no geometry). To review the result I use a view layer created by joining the point and the inspection table. I found it's not only user friendly looking form but also there was limit on using feature table in WAB or dashboard (sometimes need to update table - add high-level information as a coordinator). by writing this, I thought about another way work around. Can I use Inbox to work with related table? Is it possible to pass the main feature layer's attribute into the related table by setup calculation? I am sure I can do it for strings, but not sure if I can pass the geometry information. Cheers, K

Hello all, I am wondering if the workflow that uses the combination of Collector for ArcGIS and Survey123 can be done (not exactly the same but somewhat similar) within Survey123 with the upcoming new features from Survey123 connector 3.10 (Linked content for own basemap and pulldata with javascript). So instead of clicking a point in Collector and opens up Survey123, clicking a feature on the customized basemap in the survey creates a new point record referencing the clicked feature's x, y and other attributes followed by other questions. For example, there are address points in the basemap. When users click the address point, it creates a new feature record in the new layer (not sure if this needs to be a related table to the address point or not) with x, y, and addres retrieved from the address point clicked. I asked this briefly during the uc and someone answered it would be possible to extract feature layer's information and apply to the survey with pulldata function with java script. The use case is damage assessment. Users will visit each house in AOI and collect the data. Rather than creating new points randomly and ask users to type the address manually, I'd like to utilize the existing address point's location and some of its attributes such as road name, full address, etc. However, I want to collect it as a separated layer (not related table) with geometry using Survey123. I am sure it may work with the upcoming Field Maps app, but still want to try it out with Survey123. Cheers, K

Hello, I have a scene created with various datasets: hillshade, elevation layer, 2D/ 3D features, multipatch, ortho and etc. After bringing it into data in Experience Builder, I got an error and could not use it in the map element. Since it is a scene, I assumed that it's on JSAPI 4.X, and not sure why there is an error (see my reference below). Is ther e any layer types that are not supported by Experience builder yet? I was able to bring another scene successful thought that has only hillshade and orthos. Any advice? Select data—ArcGIS Experience Builder | Documentation Web maps and web scenes created with JSAPI 3.x that cannot be opened in Map Viewer or Scene Viewer cannot be used as data sources. (If you add one of these items, it won’t be available to select and appears in the Data panel as an error card.) Cheers, K

Hello James, Thank you for your comments. It must be the complexity of my form that causes the performance issue. I will discuss with my client to remove any unnecessary questions as well as considering splitting the form into multiple pieces- current one has multiple ecological monitoring protocols, and not all of them is expected to be used at the same time. Cheers, K
