I imagine it is a problem with the tiles themselves. When I use the following snippet, I have no issues displaying the information. I have more issues when I declare it as a tile layer: public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
MapView mapView;
@Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
mapView = (MapView) findViewById(R.id.mapView);
ArcGISMap map = new ArcGISMap(new Basemap(new ArcGISMapImageLayer("https://www.geodata.uni-goettingen.de/arcgis/rest/services/Basemap/Basemap_Default/MapServer")));
mapView.setMap(map);
}
} You may want to reviewing anti aliasing properties when exporting your tiles if you wish to use your tiles directly.

I also believe that workflow should be possible if you are only interested in storing location. You can go and iterate over the stored features and write them to the feature service individually at the end of the day.

Can you share the layer? This is a tiled service layer? Are the annotations part of the tiled service or are they a separate service all together?

thomassldn, How are you accessing the graphics layer? Are you adding it to index 1 every time you search? I would consider adding the graphics layer as the last layer which should show it at the top. (Which version of the runtime is this? I assume 10.2.9) Additionally, if you add or remove any layers between searching, this will force the graphics layer further down the list of layers.

Have you tried running this against ArcGIS Online and seeing if it calls the doneLoadingListener? Could it potentially be a portal configuration problem?

The image layer is a tiled layer? Did you create the tiled layer in ArcGIS Online from a feature service / map service? How ArcGIS Online handles this is that it stores the map service behind the scenes and then queries that services instead. We are aware that the runtime at this point does not match that capability, but we hope on getting it addressed in the near future.

Selection or identify? Selection can be accomplished by changing the touch listener and using the area created from the touch listener to select features in that area by using a query.

Hi WJBurdette, Just to confirm, when you identify features, you get a filled in popup but when you search for a feature, you get an empty popup showing "-" where you would expect data to be? We have generally seen the issue the other way around. Are you using a webmap or MMPK? Are you able to share the webmap with us? You can reach out with the details by emailing Explorer4ArcGIS@esri.com Thanks, Alexander

There is a guide here on how to identify layers: Identify features—ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Android | ArcGIS for Developers Additionally, you can use GeoView.identidyLayerAsync Method to identify features: https://developers.arcgis.com/android/latest/api-reference/reference/com/esri/arcgisruntime/mapping/view/GeoView.html#identifyLayerAsync(com.esri.arcgisruntime.layers.Layer, android.graphics.Point, double, boolean, int) The layer you are working with is a MapServer layer like : Wildfire (MapServer) ? Thanks, Alexander

In order to add features offline so they can sync online, this is the route that I would take: You would need a sync enabled feature service. 1) Create an offline geodatabase. 2) Store point features in that geodatabase as they are collected. 3) Periodically check that there is an active connection and start the geodatabase sync job. (You can use JobScheduler for this and to check other conditions to start the sync) 4) Sync happens. (I would consider running in a foreground notification so you do not run into the Android system recycling your service / resources) What it looks like you are doing above, is you are trying to add to an active online feature service without the offline mechanism set up. I hope this helps!

Hi Aaron Dick, One suggestion is that when you create the ExportTileCacheParameters, you can use getLevelIDs() which returns a modifiable list where you can specify the levels you want to export. The ExportBy.ID was used to specify that the export task should be exported by level of detail: ExportTileCacheParameters.ExportBy | ArcGIS Android 10.2.9 API Since this was the only value in the enumeration, I don't believe it added much value to the end user to specify ExportBy.ID every time they wished to export a tile cache since I don't recall any other valid options being available here (I could be mistaken). I hope this helps in the interim until a sample is available.
