Mike (and others), this is a very helpful explanation. Could you expand a bit on how I can leverage ArcGIS Online Authentication in the case where: I have a "custom" javascript application made via the web app builder and want to host it on my own web server, yet grant access through the ArcGIS Online Platform. Ideal workflow: User logs into my organizational account --> finds the app item in a group he has access to --> gets redirected to the URL on my own web server --> does NOT need to sign in again to ArcGIS Online. Thank you!!

How is your service secured? If your ArcGIS Server is using Windows domain as identity store then secure the service, add it to an ArcGIS Online map, and don't store credentials within a registered ArcGIS Online layer.

I tried and it didn't allow me to register a 10.3 Web Adaptor with a 10.2.2 ArcGIS Server Site.

Nope, I had checked those and neither of those resources provide methods to do that. But thank you for your response, Xander. Any ideas are much appreciated.

Yes, you are correct. Like all AutoCAD drawings your seed file contains a unit parameter. Find and correct that parameter and your problem will be solved - nice work!

"I wonder how to get ArcGIS to export with the proper units?" That may be the right question to ask, but it may also be the wrong one. Without seeing the data I can't say for sure, but you may need to ask the question 'how to configure AutoCAD to measure with the proper units.'

"However in the case of a subtype field I don't think that I can as it won't give you the choice of using a field as a subtype if it's not a numeric field. And the information it's representing is not numeric information." -->You're right, I forgot about that. I do have an example very similar to yours working, though. When I have some more time I'll look into the details. I'm using ArcGIS Server 10.1 SP1 QIP1. I remember that some of the apps like Collector had this issue for a while, but you're talking about just an ArcGIS Online webmap displayed in a web browser, right?

Maybe the problem is that AutoCAD is looking at it the 'wrong' way. Turns out that 76 inches are 6.3 feet. So perhaps you need to change an AutoCAD setting to "units = feet" instead of inches. I'm not an AutoCAD guru, but if you have difficulties finding out how to change that I can do a bit of research/ask around.

Try setting your data frame's coordinate system to the coordinate system of the feature class and then do the Export to CAD tool.

We have ArcGIS Server 10.1 with Windows Domain as Identity Store, and ArcGIS Server Roles as role store. Now I need to figure out when each of our 100+ users has last authenticated. We are using GIS Tier authentication, 2 virtual machines running ArcGIS Server, no ArcGIS Web Adaptor, one CISCO load balancer. Any ideas if this information can be queried somewhere? Thanks!

Is this an ArcGIS Online hosted feature service, or a you making the feature service available via your own ArcGIS Server instance? In case of the former - I don't know off the top of my head. In case of the latter it's possible but I need more info to help you out. In general I recommend making the code and the description identical because of the description-vs.-value issues you observe with some applications associated with ArcGIS Online.

I have noticed similar behavior with the Charts widget. My workaround was to use the developer edition and host the html/css/js files on our own web server. Then the widget worked as expected with our on-premises hosted services. You could register your ArcGIS Server service as a layer in ArcGIS Online, perhaps that is a workaround, too (can't remember if I ever tried that.)

Stefan, the map service you are referencing does not appear to be editable. You will need to ask the server admin to enable the editing capabilities and assuming the data is stored in an enterprise RDMS and not in a file geodatabase this will spin up a feature service with the URL http://gisweb.wsscwater.com/ArcGIS/rest/services/FireHydrant/FireBook/FeatureServer/0 . But your server admins will likely want to secure the service with a username & password

Interesting, good to know. In your SQL query you should be able to re-name fields using standard SQL syntax "SELECT fieldname1 as thisnewfieldname1,...FROM...WHERE...etc" Good luck!
