The bug mentioned is affecting us, as well. Related tables work in Classic, but not in the new Collector. Will follow the bug link mentioned.

Hi Miaogeng, Both versions are working for me. Thanks! Now I need to contact tech support and let them know of the issue and the fix. Ethan

Ethan

Thank you, Doug. We have crews chomping at the bit to start using Collector again.

Just got off the line with tech support. We went through a couple iterations of changing basemaps and adjusting symbol sizes and we had the same issues with both versions of collector. I sent in a map package so they can replicate the error. This is obviously something that changed within AGOL/Collector and I hope it run up the chain a little further. In regards to your circumstance, Miles, I feel your pain. I was wondering if you could sideload a basemap in classic for demo purposes. Does anyone on your team have offline maps loaded with your project? I couple of our crew members have them from previous downloads (before this issue) and things are at least synching for them. I'll be sure to update here, if a solution is found.

I'm using IOS and have the same issues. Even when I used ArcMap to published a feature service with a single geodatabase with a single layer for the feature service. I created a map with only that schema and it still failed to appear in the map downloaded for offline in the new version of collector and it won't even download the basemap in classic. FYI... filed a case #02354261

Hey there, Sadly, no. I've read up on related issues and tried a couple things. Since I heard that there where issues with field names in copied layers (which I don't have) and domain values being duplicated, I tried to republish my feature service without fields sharing domains and no luck. I also republished a test of my existing service on a new map just as I had done before with no luck. It's obviously an ESRI issue and a very frustrating one at that. The field crews that have already downloaded basemaps for areas well before this issue are having no problems. I'm pretty surprised by the lack of response on this thread. Ethan

Any luck with this, yet? These same feature services were working fine in new version of collector, but now a layer won't load when defining a new area. So basically, both versions of that app won't function offline. They will function realtime. We hadn't changed anything on our end. This is the error for the separate issue: Domain: com.esri.arcgis.runtime.error Code: 20 Description: No data

Just the standard Imagery with labels. Interesting how it is failing on projects using different feature services and there has been no change on our end.

All of a sudden we are unable to download basemaps for offline data collection. The error states a mismatch in data type. It is occurring across all projects we conduct. Does anyone know what is happening? We are using "Classic" on our iPads.

Greetings Nick, Ericka may have more specifics on digitizing polygons, as it is a more limited part of our workflow. Our primary work is adding points for all birds detected while observers walk line-transect during surveys. We survey over a thousand transects (typically 400m) each year. Observers selected a coded-value domain driven specie, verify other attributes, and then place the point. With "Classic" they were able to this relatively quickly and had the added feature of crosshairs within a magnified window. With the latest version, observers need to move the map and zoom in manually. After point submission the map remains in that state and users must manually adjust to the previous extent that is ideal for conducting surveys. Does this make sense? To put it another way, what would be most efficient way to add hundreds of points on a map-based PC application? Moving the map to a set point and clicking submit or allowing the user to place points anywhere in the view extent? I hope this helps and I'm very appreciative of ESRI reaching out like this. Thanks! Ethan

I've been testing it a little more and admit it isn't the worst change, but still using "Classic." On the other hand, the ability to rotate the map is a real plus. Ditto on the default for starting a polygon feature at current location. In general, more options for customized UI would be great.

With every GIS app that I've used to add features (points or polygons), you click on the map location where you'd like to add a point or start drawing. With the new version of Collector, one must move the map to crosshairs. Does anyone else find this awkward? There is a rather cumbersome workaround that allows you to first drop a pin and then select "Collect Here." At that point, your screen space is taken up by other location information before navigating to add data. This is particularly frustrating when you are collecting hundreds of features in a day. Thankfully, the Collector Classic is still a useable option, albeit with the sacrifice of labeling.

Xander Bakker, I'm unable to recreate the error. I had run the tool unsuccessfully with the original feature class open in the Table of Contents. I ran the tool again with the layer removed and it was successful. I must have been incorrect in assuming the error was caused by lock issue. It is working well. Mine works just as yours (above screenshots). I'm surprised at how quickly it runs.
