Thank you for your submission. Regarding symbology, are you aware of the Use symbol types compatible with all clients check box which is available when you configure web feature layers? This setting may help handle symbol rendering in different applications.

We encourage users to consider assigning layer IDs as a step in the process of authoring maps for publishing. This ensures that the layer IDs are consistent and can be accurately referenced in web maps or applications. The analyzer error helps to prevent issues when overwriting services and alert users of this setting. This blog article and this ArcGIS Pro topic has some additional info that may be helpful.

Hi @RickEhlin__Jr , Did you share a map image layer with an associated web feature layer? Were you using the same map? I'm curious what type of layers were present in the web feature layer but not in the map image layer. Generally, if layers are intentionally dropped because they are unsupported, an analyzer warning should have appeared. Thanks, Jonah

Hi @johnjcarter, Can you please explain your workflow in a bit more detail? It sounds you shared a map package to a portal with the Upload package to Online account option, then opened it in ArcGIS Pro, switched active portals, and found that your metadata was missing? If you are able to share some steps to reproduce the issue, that will help us investigate further. Thanks, Jonah

In ArcGIS Pro, we show analyzer warning 24078 and automatically drop the service layer (basemap) when publishing. If you want to include a basemap, you can share a web map instead.
