We are using workflow manager 10.2.1 Desktop. I would like to be able to send an email to the workflow manager email account that was set up for notifications, to create a job, with the message in the notes and any attachment in the email become attachments in the job. I can't find any mention that it does anything like that, but wanted to see if anyone out there has found a way. #arcgis workflow manager

First being able to edit related records using web app builder is AWESOME!!https://community.esri.com/community/gis/web-gis/web-appbuilder?sr=search&searchId=33647200-6910-4c2f-9b40-c5168d36f838&searchIndex=2 Now for my question. I set up in ArcGIS online a webmap that has a feature class and a single related table. Under the configure pop-up i checked show related records and under sort options i set up the sort based on a date field. Now when I open this map in Collector on the ipad it functions properly, showing the related records in descending order by date. But when I use web app builder to set up the the editor widget it does not honor the sorting based on the web map it is created off of. Is there another way to sort this data in web app builder?

I am looking to purchase the Geoevent Processor Extension for ArcGIS server to bring in data from the Verizon Networkfleet. But I wanted to try and get more detail into how it works. Verizon sent me directions for the set up (see attachment). On page six it shows how to set up the input, then it talks about providing them that input URL so they can push data to it. Our GIS server is not assessable over the internet, but can access the internet, does anyone know if this will work? Or as another option can you install the Geoevent Processor Extension on a separate server from ArcGIS server? Details: Running Window Server 2008 R2 IIS7 ArcGIS Sever 10.2.1 thanks for any insight. Daniel, Don't know if you ever found your answer, but I am in the process of setting this up as well. Attached is what Network Fleet sent me. On page 13 and 14 there are some details that may help in setting up your field mapping. Tom

Tope thanks for the reply. We only have a few thousand records right now, nothing nearing the hundreds of thousands. We do have extended properties tables, two of them and they don't take long to load, much faster then the properties tab. We typically don't have AOI's, so I don't have a time frame for those to load. I also went through ESRI support with the Issue, and they were able to replicate the issue, and have created a BUG incident for it. BUG-000086618. Unfortunately that does not really solve my issue and we are stuck trying to avoid the properties tab while working in workflow manager. Any other suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Tom

We have just upgraded ArcGIS desktop from 10.1 to 10.2.1 as well as the workflow manager application. Since the upgrade the work flow application has been running very slowly, and it appears to be related to the Job Properties tab. When that tab is closed/not being displayed it run much faster. Has anyone else had similar issues? Would creating indexes on the JTX_JOBS table and other related tables help? thanks for any help or suggestions. Tom

Is there a way in workflow manager to change the ended date of a job? We have a bunch that need to be entered for jobs already complete, but I would like the ended date to be corrected once they are entered.

The reason I started with Explorer is we were looking for an app that would work well to get our field personnel maps in the field. Prior to this they only had a paper map with them of the area they would be working in. That obviously had a lot of limitations. To start with the explorer app made the best sense for us, we didn't want to give the field personnel editing capabilities and I would say we are still at the point for most of them, but we want to start rolling out editing capabilities for specific job functions for specific personnel. But also want to keep tight controls over who has editing capabilities, and what they can edit. The first place I want to take start with editing in the field is for our leak survey personnel. For them I can see using the collector app, they want to stream points as they walk to create an audit trail of where they have surveyed and when they were there. When they find a leak they need to be able to add it to the map with all the necessary attributes. But we also get leak calls that are investigated by different personnel, and they would need to be able to create these leak points as well and for them their main job function is not editing map features it is putting pipe in the ground, and we need to keep it as simple and easy as possible. The leak point doesn’t have to be GPS’sed it may just be placed on the map via a user pointing to the location of the leak. So for this I would think should be possible in either app. I wouldn’t say the explorer app should be restricted to only non GPS editing, but maybe leave the finer GPS controls to the collector app. If you are looking for control of the accuracy I think that is a good place to look towards the collector app. I think the Explore app should at a minimum have the ability to edit/update features that don’t require GPS locations. So giving a user the ability to add it to the map with a finger touch or select a feature and add a related record or update its features in the Explorer app I think would go a long way. This would really help with the ability to perform inspections in the field. And we do a lot of inspections! Unfortunately for me, you don’t just have to please me with this, but the entire ESRI community. I wish you luck with that, we are a tough bunch to please. But I look forward to hearing where ESRI is going to take the Explorer App.
