Hi Brad, 1. We had seen similar or mixed types of issues I believe with 2.1 and ArcGIS Desktop 10.5.1. I haven't tried yet running the process again in 10.6; was kind of holding for 10.6.1 to just see the most stabilized version; but also knew that before I head to UC I wanted to take and prepare some benchmark data for discussions. 2. We are required to provide CSV and Tab files quarterly for various data outputs based on ranged-street data and those structured to look the USPS formatted outputs. So we use the Standardize Address tool to format the bulk table content that we are able to then do a select distinct on the various column selections for those files.

Here is new issue with ArcGIS Pro 2.2.x. I have a table that we run the Standardize Address tool on each month and then geocode and extract from. We are finding a interesting scenario happening. When the value going into the "Single House" or "Singe House with Subunit" locator type such as this: 399 W C ST We see the house number, the "W" PreDir, "C" StreetName, and "ST" SufType parse back. But then in the same table we have: 399 W H ST But in this case we get the "W" direction, but the "H" goes into PreType, then the "ST" into the StreetName. This is a major issue that will break many things for states that build and support Sales Tax Data. Bruce Harold / Brad Niemand / Agatha Wong / Shana Britt who would run point on this question? <Update> If you look at the attached fGDB, you can see the source table; as well as the results from Desktop 10.6 and Pro 2.2; it looks like Pro 2.2 using the Single Address with SubAddress did the best job; but I will have to do a broader test tomorrow with more records to see if more scenarios show. </Update>

So in that graphic Kory Kramer, we would need to assume the Microsoft LTSC builds of Windows 10 will not be supported for either desktop environments. Since per Microsoft, the SA and LTSC builds are very different by deployment and feature levels. It would honestly be better for ESRI to support the LTSC first; since that will represent the minimum functional version of Windows 10, with the SA supporting newer features and device sets. You can trace through the updated docs here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/itpro/windows-10/release-information that they have some very distinct issues that at the OS and Hardware have potential impacts for all of your Enterprise level customers.

Yes, I think that is the next logical step; ESRI having AGS as well as the currently available Portal available. I know in my case we do a lot of things that are pretty intensive geoprocessing that currently require dedicated machines (either local VMs or cloud VMs) that have AGS installed. Currently ESRI doesn't have or support a surge model for pricing, only short-terms. Currently I can upload a block of data to AGOL and that gets stored in a DataStore instance, and I can run very basic functions from that Portal-Like interface. If I needed a more deep workflow or more tightly automated process like you can do with your own published tools with AGS, that can be run ad-hoc; you can't. The ability to have AGS running and licensed in such as way that would reflect the AGOL surge model has many benefits.

But those take you away from the totally hosted platform which is what my Idea is pushing. You can use your own AWS/Azure/Google VMs to host Portal, so is that a preffered path away from ArcGIS.com? No; ESRI is pushing very much the "Full Stack" approach; but their own path in hosted services are not "Full Stack" and that is limiting.

With the power of Portal in the Cloud (i.e. arcgis.com) it is about time to put the full power of AGS there. There are many places where customers need to do real GeoProcessing and having the ability to take the power of ArcPy and AGS would extend the platform so much further. Right now; you can do Feature-Layer level functions which happen in the cloud instance of DataStore; but that doesn't touch the capabilities or complexities of real Enterprise Applications. The flexibility of being able to push layers from ArcCatalog or Pro to a Cloud interface for a eGDB, then have a hosted interface where GeoProcessing scripts/tools could be pushed in a secure/hosted manner to then support the on-demand/surge processes that many need but ArcGIS.com currently can't provide.

Yes, this has been a core flaw in ArcGIS for a long time. The ability to set Domain/Lookup tables to be any relational table would open up so much more integration possibilities.

With Microsoft moving the the SA (Semi-Annual) schedule for major updates to the OS; aside from the monthly Patch Tuesday cycle there is another scope. They have create the LTSC (Long-Term Service Channel) model which is a different deployment and support model for some use cases. Per Microsoft Overview of Windows as a service There are some potentially serious implications when it comes to functionality and supportability. I need to know from #ESRI if there are issues with the LTSC model and what those may be when you are talking about workstation deployments. Thank you;

Wouldn't this be accomplished by doing a compress then truncate? Or are you looking just to truncate a specific version where you would be undoing the pending changes?

And what about then for when the expiration date has passed the feature-layer/service would not be visible; or would be visibly changed to like a different symbology?

Tim, in order for AGO to host a service it has to be exposed as a URL that is accessible to the user through the AGO proxy. I have published "Internal" services through my AGO using my URLS and was able to access them.
