Hi Wendy, It is possible to configure ExecuteURL step to access a GP service. The URL should look like: https://[server name].[domain]/arcgis/rest/services/[GP service name]/GPServer/Create%20New%20Jobs/submitJob When you execute the URL, it will open the GP service page in a new browser window. You will need to enter the input parameters and manually run the GP tool. You can also include the parameter values in the url if you want to pre-define them. https://[server name].[domain]/arcgis/rest/services/[GP service name]/GPServer/Create%20New%20Jobs/submitJob?para1=value1¶2=value2¶3=value3&f=html However if you would like to better interact with GP tools, the more common way is to configure a step of ExecuteGPTool or LaunchGPTool. Note that the GP tools can be made available on server but a GP service is not currently supported. The GP tool can be copied to the server and only works if the tool belongs to the user. You can determine which way you would like to go with and I would like to provide more details. Thanks, Meggie

Hello Alice, Workflow Manager provides a GP tool to create new jobs with AOI based on provided geometry. You can access this tool in ArcCatalog if you enable Workflow Manager extension license. The LOI Extent parameter is where you enter the fishnet feature class. The number of the polygon/point in the feature class determines the number of the jobs being created. It is also possible to create one job with merging all geometries in your input LOI extent. If you would like to access this tool on web, you can publish this GP tool as a GP service. However I don't think the LOI extent input can be a feature service. You will need to copy your AOI feature class to the server and enter the path of the feature class. If you have started using ArcGIS Pro v.2.0 or above, you can make map selections in your feature service within Pro and Workflow Manager provides a create job tools based on your selection. Create and close jobs—Workflow Manager | ArcGIS Desktop Hope this help and let me know if you have further questions. Thanks, Meggie

Hi Ulises, Please let me know if my understanding of your question is correct. Group 1: having create job privilege, available job types A and B Group 2: having no create job privilege, available job types C and D. You would like to use the user account to be able to create job A and B, but not C and D. Job type C and D is only visible to the user. For our current implementation, this is not possible. User has the privilege as long as it is in one group that user belongs to. With that being said, even your user in one of the groups that is missing create job privilege, your user can still create jobs. Job filter is only applied to job types not privileges. Thanks, Meggie

Hi Olav, What version of Workflow Manager are you using? I would recommend using the Launch GP Tool dialog to configure this step. It will open a dialog to allow you to navigate to your tool and toolbox. By using it it'll make sure your toolbox path and tool name is correct. The arguments should look similar to this format: "/toolboxpath:C:\data\Toolbox.pyt /tool:Tool". Give it a try using the dialog. Let me know if you still have issues to launch the tool. Thanks, Meggie

Hi Ciara, If you are trying to change the job status for currently existing jobs, I do not have a good solution. Re-opening closed job only allows you to be able to interact with the job again such as editing job properties. However the job cannot be re-run. If you try to keep the future child jobs from being closed after execution, you need to make sure unchecking the option to Auto close jobs when workflow complete. You can do it in Administrator - System settings - Workflow tab. Hope this help. Feel free to share your thoughts. I would like to know more of your job workflows and we may be able to come up with a better idea. Thanks, Meggie

Yes that would be our first concern. The error message is misleading. Normally increasing the size of attachment data in your database would solve this issue.

Hi, Ciara, This is a memory issue. We load the attachment file into memory before adding it into our database. Could you please check your system memory as well as how much memory the Workflow Manager is using when it fails? Thanks, Meggie

Hello Deepti, Sorry for the delay. Did you mean to use JTXSteps.ExecuteURL instead of JTXSteps.ExecuteGPTool to run the GP service? If so I don't think all the special characters are accepted in the arguments as part of URL without encoded. Would it be possible if you can run this step by executing a GP tool instead of GP service? That way passing special characters would not raise the issue. Also I think there should be a possibility to write a custom token parser for the url if you are using WMX Desktop version (10.x) not Pro. Let me know how you think of my suggestions. I would like to provide more details if you prefers using GP service and would like to write a token parser. Thanks, Meggie

Hello Jeremy, Can you enable the Developer tools in your browser and see if any errors being returned when you create job? The issue may occur when loading the job types into the drop down list for job creation. Any errors shown in the Console of Developer tools would be very helpful for us to troubleshoot this issue. Thanks, Meggie

Hi Apurv, Could you check your WFM database and see if the data workspace is still configured? You can access Administrator - GeoDatabases - Data Workspaces. Like I mentioned in my earlier reply, importing JXL will not copy the Data Workspace connection. Most likely in your job type, it doesn't configure a data workspace either. You would need to manually add it. I am not 100% sure my understanding is correct based on your description. Let me know if it is something else. Thanks, Meggie

Apurv, I totally understand your pain. When migrating data for Workflow Manager repository, we have experienced the challenges that you described. There seems no perfect way to do the magic to migrate everything into the new database. Here I would like to share some of my thoughts. 1. Import jxl file is the best practice. This will handle almost everything including the configuration of extended properties, job maps, job queries, etc. However importing jxl file will not import data workspace connections into the new database. You would need to manually add them. As a result, if any job type is using data workspace, you will need to manually add them too after import. Here is what I usually do for the repository having many data workspaces. I would copy the Workflow Manager schema table JTX_DATABASES into the new database. This will copy the data workspace connection. 2. I am not 100% understanding your question regarding updating a specific job type by using jxl. Would you be able to update the job type in the old database then export the jxl from Workflow Manager Administrator in the database level then import? If you need to import jxl of job type which has been existing, unfortunately, we do not provide the option as we do for importing the entire database jxl to merge which will overwrite and update the existing job type. So I would suggest updating it in the old database then export jxl. Hope this help on the issues you are currently running into. Please let me know if you have more thoughts or questions. Thanks, Meggie

Theoretically the answer is YES. Workflow Manager supports a custom step with "executable" type. When you configure a custom step, in Execution tab, you can choose "Executable" and add your ArcGISPro.exe path (normally it's in the bin folder of ArcGIS Pro install directory) under "Program" for Execution Arguments. Then you can launch Pro when executing the step in Workflow Manager, if my understanding of your question is correct. However we highly recommend running your entire workflow within ArcGISPro. All custom steps are supported in Pro. In addition to running Pro as ArcMap, Workflow Manager as client application is now available in Pro. With that being said, you can create Workflow Manager connection in Pro and start creating jobs and executing steps within the job. I would recommend the following demo of Getting Started with out-of-box templates I posted earlier. It will give you some ideas on how to use ArcGIS Pro as workflow manager client. Video Link : 4040 I hope this answers your question. Feel free to let me know if you have any further questions.

It is not necessary to store workflow manager and data reviewer into one database. You can add the connection to your enterprise data reviewer database within Workflow Manager by adding a data workspace. Then the connection will be shown in WMX Data Workspace Connection drop down list in your screenshot when configuring the creating data reviewer session custom step. You can choose that option to create your data reviewer sessions. The following link has details on how to configure the step. To find the details for your question, look at the configuration for argument /WMXDW:Reviewer. http://desktop.arcgis.com/en/arcmap/latest/extensions/data-reviewer/workflow-configuration-using-the-data-reviewer-custom-steps.htm
