Jason, I would upgrade to the Microsoft_SQL_Server_2012_SP1_Native_Client_32bit_135447 or 64bit based on your operating system. All of my users with 10.3 have this client installed, and they are hitting a 10.2.2 SDE geodatabase. This is the one offered on Esri's downloads.

It would be good if ArcGIS Server would monitor and report memory usage and availability for ArcGIS software being utilized by the server. This would alert the server administrator of potential issues and assist with configuring and tuning the server, especially if the server administrator is busy with other tasks and does not have the opportunity to monitor the server by other means.

Yes, this needs to happen on the local server, I posted yesterday about having a checkerboard pattern in our mosaic datasets, one of the issues is that when we moved our servers it broke the file shares on the storage drive for the base images. The ArcGIS Server Account needs access to the folder where the imagery resides. Here is the link, all though it is a different issue the underlying problem is the same. I would perform what Bill mentioned, and then I would contact my server admin and make sure that the ArcGIS Server Account has access to the file location. I agree with both responses so far, the response of our mosaics after creating Image Services has been great, just for loading and displaying the data.

Good morning GeoNet, over the past couple of weeks we have been fighting a checkerboard when zooming into our Mosaic Datasets. This comes after our production server and storage drives were moved to a new environment. I knew that the services were having a problem getting to raster folder to access the images. After working with Esri Support the fix was easy. First our problem was that the server names changed along with the IP. The fix is to repair the path to the images on each Mosaic Dataset that you have. Here is the procedure: 1. Open ArcCatalog 2. Connect to your Geodatabase 3. Right click on the Mosaic Dataset 4. Click on Modify>Repair The process will spool through the service then get to the Repair Dataset Dialogue box. Here the user is able to put in the new path and choose to click OK or click in the Only Broken Link box (the repair is taking place at this time). In many cases this should fix the issue, but in some cases the rasters may reside on a storage drive, and the drive maybe shared with everyone to gain access to the base images. The problem that we encountered was that once the servers were moved it broke the share on the raster folder housing the base images. In this case have the server administrator go onto the server and re add the ArcGIS server account as a user on the GIS server, and give the account permission to access the share and remake the share on the server. This should fix the other people that still are not able to view the images after first running the repair. Are these the only ways of fixing this issue that others may have run into? Please give other fixes that you may have run into to get around this issue. Thank you. One last item of interest, the repair requires either an Advance or Standard license. Over lay the Street map on to the imagery, and set the transparency on the street layer, this will show you if the basemaps match up well, it does not sound like the street basemap is as accurate as the image basemap.

Are the first 2 or 3 digits unique to each state? If so, you could select each group of zip codes separately and dissolve them as you select them.

I just got this, but if you have the coast line and have the mean, median, or average distances in fields, you can use this distance field to buffer the coast line to created polygons, then convert the polygons to lines, then simply split the lines at the ends where you need to, you can choose to use square ends versus rounded ends. With this your lines are tied to the coast line. Just a thought.

Are the map services in the map published as feature services? It has to be a feature service in order to edit.

The big challenge that we faced was getting a unique facility where DEQ does business, because any given permit location may have to get multiple permits that may cross multiple divisions. Each program has a different definition of what a facility is, so, this became challenge on getting the programs to agree on what will be the name of the all encompassing facility for any given permit location.

Matt, Here is an example of a document that I created for our Land Quality Division (LQD). I first reviewed the permit applications for each permit type, then made a listing of the potential feature classes and their attributes, then I also included all layers needed on the maps to go along with the permit. Then is was sent out to the GIS working group that I created for the LQD working group that I created in order to get their feedback on what should be there since the permit applications were created (this is the red attributes in the document). Then I moved forward creating the feature classes in our SDE geodatabase as well as file geodatabase that is used by the data editors before updating the SDE layers.

You could run a query geoprocessing service, and publish this service then you can use the query in your app.

Do you have a rotation field? I was unsure if the rotation option in the Data Driven Pages Dialogue gives you what you are looking for?
