Dear All, I'm developing an Android Application using ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Android app but I'm getting confused about which layer type should be used. One of my colleagues suggested me I should use a webmap in developing an Android Application. Does it always have to be a webmap or can I simply use a feature layer? I would appreciate if you could kindly share your experiences and suggestions or a resource on this issue. Please note that all layers are hosted in our ArcGIS Online organizational account. My second question is that, how I can filter layers in android app. Typically, there are a number of layers in a webmap and what I would like to do is filter the layers so that only selected layers are displayed. So far, the only workaround I find is to go back and select another webmap which makes the application not easy to use. Thank you for your help in advance. Have a great weekend...

Greetings, I'm developing an android application using ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Android v10.1.1. I tested the application on different smart phones and noticed that the loading of a WebMap takes up to 10-15 seconds. So, when you launch the application, all you can see is a blank screen until the WebMap is loaded. Is this a known issue or is there a way to load the WebMap faster. ? Thank you Regards - Omur Saygin, PhD.

Dear Geonet Members, I searched posts in Geonet to find the solution but I just couldn't find what I was looking for. Could you please kindly suggest a document or share your suggestions on how to configure the search widget ? I want to limit the search only to the specific layers. Thank you. Regards

Hello, I'm preparing a web map. By default, the search box gets results from all available data outside my map extent, if any. I know it is possible to configure search widget to query only specified layers in a web map application but can I do this in a similar way in a web map ? Thank you in advance. Best Wishes in New Year.

Hello Leo, Once again. thank you for the helpful suggestion. I used Feature to point tool to create centroids and replaced each centroid (point) with a symbol based on the function of the building defined in the attribute table. On the other hand, in ArcGIS Online I find adding `Map Note` layer is effective for this purpose. Have a great holiday.

Leo, I'm sorry for not responding your reply earlier. Actually, I already created a point by using centroid of the polygon but I didn't think of filling in the attribute. If you don't mind my asking could you please kindly share a document explaining how to put an icon for each polygon ? Thank you in advance Happy New Year - O.S.

Dear Geonet Members, I'm trying to develop an android application showing buildings in my university campus. There is no problem in symbolizing buildings based on their attributes such as `architecture`, `engineering`, `library` etc. Everything seems to be fine when I test the application except one thing. What I want is to display an icon (i.e a book icon for the library) on top of polygon feature so that user can tap an icon on the map to open the feature's pop-up. I would be thankful if you could kindly share your suggestions on this issue. Happy New Year and Happy Holiday - Saygin

Dear members, I have a quick question and hope if you could kindly share your suggestions. I'm trying to select words between parenthesis (i.e (Izmir). I've searched Geonet for this specific task but ended up with no luck. I'm sending the screenshot of the table. Thank you in advance. Regards

Hello Dan, Thank you for your comment and suggestion. The coordinate system of both layers is same which is WGS 1984 Zone 35 N. I also checked each layer's extents and found that they are different. I'm not so clear but are you saying extents of both layers should be the same ? I tried to intersect the points with the polygons but I got two error messages; 1) `The table was not found.` 2) ` Invalid Topology [Z coord limit exceeded.] Failed to execute (Intersect) Regards - O.Saygin
