Hi, Great news, I tried the 10.4 Beta today and ESRI finally fixed the zoom in problem. You can now zoom in as much as you want, whatever the level of detail of your basemap or tpk.

Hi Susan, You should really consider increasing the HDD Block size to 64K. In my experience, this change was a winner in 3 differents organizations. Still not reaching SDEBINARY performance but good enough; You will find many references to this on the web, like : How to improve SQL Server's IO performance by up to 40% or Disk Partition Alignment: It Still Matters–DPA for Windows Server 2012, SQL Server 2012, and SQL Server 2014 | Jimmy May… www.MichaelSteineke.com | Block Size and Performance with Hyper-V and SQL Server

From osweetman on ArcGIS Idea There's actually a undocumented "feature" that allows labels in Collector. I wish ESRI would document it, but they actually consider it to be a bug. Here's how to add labels: 1. In the desktop application, turn on labels for the feature layer you want labeled. Format them exactly how you want them displayed in Collector. 2. Publish the feature service as you normally would (we use ArcGIS Online to host our services, so no idea if this works with Server). 3. Download a map with the feature layer to Collector. The labels only display if the map is downloaded (i.e. offline mode). 4. Voila! Labels, just like we want! And pray that ESRI doesn't "fix" this "bug"! - Hope this helps a lot of people, and do not forget to promote the idea for "Collector - Label features" on the ArcGIS Idea dedicated page !

Hi Scott, Just changed the partition sector config to 64k. And yes the performance with ST_GEOMETRY and SQL Server 2012 is now good ! But just "good", not "great". I can still notice a 50% performance increase if I use SDEBINARY instead of ST_GEOMETRY. Anyway both formats are now usable depending the need.

Hi Scott, Could you confirm using 64k bytes per sector was the key for you to have great performance with your Enterprise Geodatabase on SQL server 2012 with GEOMETRY storage ? Or are you using SDEBINARY storage ? Currently I had to go back to SDEBINARY in SQL2012 to get decent performance.

Hi, I downloaded the GoToCoordinates Add-In code here : http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=8257a39cb73148c8bb15270daed2cd8f. VS2012 upgrade the solution I managed to compile it in visual studio 2012 : No error. code analysis : No Issues When I launch the project for debug I get a quick error message in the viewer during a fraction of second: And then the app load without any tools (of course I can not modify or debug the add-in...) I have these kind of errors in the debug output: {System.Windows.Markup.XamlParseException: The invocation of the constructor on type 'GoToCoordinates.AddIns.GoToCoordinatesTool' that matches the specified binding constraints threw an exception. [Line: 1 Position: 60] ---> System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'ESRI.ArcGIS.Client.Extensibility, Version=3.1.0.110, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=8fc3cc631e44ad86' or one of its dependencies. The requested assembly version conflicts with what is already bound in the app domain or specified in the manifest. I did not manage to solve it yet. THX

Hi, I wanted to use printing service included with AGS 10.1 (SP1 on linux) to export map layout to PDF, I used standard ESRI templates for printing. The problem is output PDF file does not display Title and other layout text with the right font. The PDF property shows only ESRIAMFMElectric as included font which makes the pdf rather unreadable... Labels/annos display well on the map dataframe (fonts are ok in the mapservice) Did I miss something during the installation ? Should I put some windows fonts somewhere on the server for PDF export ? Thank you

Hi, Just to mention that we recently tried to start developing on ArcGIS Mobile 3.1 for windows and we discovered that this walk-through was still only achievable on Mobile 10.0 ! Not only the path of the application is different but also the Object model, for example : MobileApplication.Current.Project.DataSourceInfos is no longer valid properties because object class Project has evolved since 10.0. So the code of this first step-by-step tutorial will never work. You will have to change many part of the code if you want to get your first extension working... that is also a way to learn!!! But all these outdated samples are officially part of the 3.1 documentation and supposed to give you a good starting point. ESRI, could you please update the documentation to the current release ?
