No problem! I'll also see if I can figure this out. Let me know once you have figured it out and post it here. That would be some great knowledge to have!

The only thing I can think of is trying a different browser with the "file:" option. Other than that, I don't know.

Once you have uploaded your data to the map you need to configure your pop-up. To get to this follow the instruction in this picture. Now the pop-up configuration is open. Where it says "Display", change it to "A custom attribute display". Then click "Configure". Click the small plus on the right side to add the fields you want to show. Once it is time to add the link, click on the add hyperlink button. As URL type in {DocumentHy} and as description use whatever you like. Click "set" and "ok" once your pop-up box is set up. Finally click "Save Pop-Up". I hope this works for you!

Are you uploading a zipped shapefile to get your layer or is it a hosted feature service?

Hi Tim, You must "stop/pause" whatever media is inside the pop-up before closing the pop-up. I usually include this note as an instruction for users under the "Description & Contents" part of the metadata page for the web map or web mapping application. Thanks! Did you try this in the Google Chrome browser? Open your map in Google Chrome and click on one of the pop-up boxes that include a youtube video, close the pop-up box and you should be able to replicate the problem.

As I have noted in Marks Thread, make sure to not open your map in google chrome. You will run into the problem that the youtube video will stay on your screen even after closing the pop-up box. Just an FYI!

Hey Mark, I tried adding youtube videos before, but I ran into a problem in the google chrome browser. When you open a pop-up box that has a youtube video in it and you close the pop-up box, the video will still stay on your screen. It is a weird problem. Just a heads up! Tim

Doug, Did you use the hyperlink button, when configuring your "Custom Attribute Display" pop up box? If you have a filed in your attribute table dedicated to those file locations, you can put the field name in the URL location with {} surrounding it. i.e. {TEXT} But remember if it is stored on your machine, it will only work for you. Hope this helps! Tim

I think this is what you are looking for (Especially the "Tip" part of the article): http://resources.arcgis.com/en/help/arcgisonline/index.html#//010q000000n0000000 This plus the ArcGIS/Collector app for your device (http://resources.arcgis.com/en/collector/) would let you attach images to your newly created points. But for this you need an organizational account. Hope that helps!

You have a few ways to get custom symbols. 1) If you have an organizational account you can upload feature service through ArcGIS Desktop, with the symbols you want. 2) If you have ArcGIS server you can also host a feature service and just import it to your map. No organizational account needed. 3) The last way is to upload your zipped shapefile and then use a custom symbol instead of the once offered by ESRI. All you need to do is upload your symbol somewhere and then point to it in the custom symbol option.

Did you add a feature service from another user or did you upload data from another user? If you added a hosted feature service from somebody else then you can't make any chances to the data.

Joe, I don't think this is possible, the only way a non member can add data is through map notes. You can only make layer changes if you have an organizational account. Even then, this account would see the whole layer and what has been created. This sounds more like something you need to create in flex, java or silverlight. Something like this: http://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=12e175f3534b4e8e949ef193319b9686 Tim

Important is that if you have already created a map with bing maps as your basemap, prior to the Q1 update, don't do any adjustments to that map or else it won't load anymore if you still have bing maps as your basemap after you hit save.
