With Database Connections using ArcCatalog, one can right-click on the connection and select "Disconnect". As a Geodatabase Administrator, having the ability to explicitly disconnect the connection is useful when some type of action is needed to perform a refresh of the underlying database connection. Such as when new feature classes have been added to the geodatabase and one needs to now be able to view those new additions in the existing database connection. The "Disconnect" operation has been in the ArcGIS Desktop software for years. A similar "Disconnect" operation is needed with Catalog in ArcGIS Pro. Currently, to refresh an existing database connection in ArcGIS Pro, one has to exit the ArcGIS Pro project and then reopen the project.

Hi, Could you describe how you are connecting to your Access database? Also, what version of Office are you using and is your version of Office 32 bit or 64 bit? Thanks.

Also check the Windows Sever Event logs. If the compress failure is due to a SQL Server database table or index issue then the compress failure will often register a useful error message in the event logs.

As Dan said above, some other application could be causing the lock. ArcCatalog often has to be closed to remove a lock on the fgdb. If the fgdb is on a network drive, then backup software can put locks on the fgdb if your IT group are running backups during the day. A new problem we have started encountering this past year is from orphan ArcMap.exe processes left running after exiting ArcMap. To remove locks on the fgdb or other databases, we are often having to go into the Windows Task Manager to end these orphan ArcMap processes.

For File Geodatabase to Personal Geodatabase to Microsoft Access workflows and reverse, one option is to keep around an older version of ArcGIS Desktop around such as ArcGIS Desktop 10.3.1 around on an older machine or virtual machine.

Client Software: ArcGIS Pro 2.5.2 Server software: ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8 In ArcGIS Pro, I have a 3D multipatch layer that I am attempting to Share as a Web Scene, a Scene, to our ArcGIS Enterprise portal. When I attempt to Share this layer, in Pro, I receive the error "00290: Cannot connect through admin URL or services URL". I can, however, successfully Share and publish from Pro a simple 2D layer to our portal as a Hosted Feature Layer. The Pro help documentation for this error says that a Scene layer cannot be shared without access to the "admin API". I am afraid that I do know what this means. How does one access the "admin API" of our ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8 Portal from ArcGIS Pro 2.5.2 ?

Paul, What version of ArcGIS Enterprise are you using? With the Smart Editor widget, I cannot get the editing template to appear for an ArcGIS Server Feature Service for any of the WAB themes. The Editor widget however works fine. I am using ArcGIS Enterprise version 10.8.

Yes, I also have the same problem with the labeling initially appearing in Explorer for iPad for just one polygon layer in the mmpk. Toggling the layer on and off makes the label go away which suggests that this is an app type issue. Have to do some more testing with just this one layer to try and see if this is a Pro issue or an Explorer for iOS issue. Used ArcGIS Pro 2.5.1 to create the mmpk.

With ArcGIS Enterprise 10.8, the Portal for ArcGIS application now does not show the date of the users last successful logon. One has to now write and use a python script as a workaround. See #BUG-000129529 Portal home application does not update the last login time for all portal users..

It would be very useful for portal administrators to see both the date, and the time, when a user last logged into the Portal. Currently, only the date of last login is displayed. When troubleshooting an issue with a particular user, it is helpful to know the time when a particular user successfully logged into the portal.

My organization really needs a complete replacement for the 10.2 era Esri Windows Mobile Map and Utility Mobile Map application. In the big bad world of disasters, the Internet is not going to always be around and it truly is imperative that we have as an option to physicaly store large aerial imagery base maps and other data on the device.
