Hi, I have been having an issues with the PDF when I exported from ArcMap. In ArcMap, I set up the layout as 34 x 24 landscape. But when I export it to PDF and wanted to print to 11 x 17. It seems like when it prints the image is offset on the paper or sometimes it would print to 8.5 x 11 . Has anyone ever had that problem ? I have ArcGIS 10.3.1 Adobe Acrobat Pro DC Question : So when you first open the PDF and go to the File -> Print settings Here is what I have here . The Actual Size should be set to 17 x 11 but it showing as it is 8.5 x 11 (purple square color). If I change it to Fit , it will fit the document but why does it set to 8.5 x 11 instead of 17 x 11 ? Does anyone have any suggest as why it does this way ? Is it my ArcGIS 10.3.1 not up to with the Adobe Acrobat Pro DC ? This is driving my crazy ! Thanks,

Never mind I went back and do my best in ArcGIS 10.3.1 and fix it. It looks much better. It would have been nice if ESRI could stand up and change their ArcGIS Pro to set all the same as 10.3 and others. Too bad we have to suffer it !

Has anyone any luck getting their layer file saved from ArcGIS Pro into ArcGIS 10.3.1 . I went through the ArcGIS Pro group section and found this somebody question on about saving Layer file from ArcGIS Pro to ArcGIS 10.x ... saving LYR file from arcgis pro Before you answer to my question .. I worked all the files and stuff done on ArcGIS 10.3.1 and tried to set it up a symbology that looks like this : < -- see the symbology with E and X . that is the one I am working on ... Problem when you use it in ArcGIS 10.3.1, it can be very difficult to make some modify through the Layer's properties and it can take a lot of my time and it's time-consuming and toll on me. So my alternative was to take a try in ArcGIS Pro and this really help me a lot and make so much easier ! Problem is How do I export back in ArcGIS 10.3.1 is there any alternative way to do this ? As of August 21, 2017, ArcGIS 10.3.1 ArcGIS Pro 1.4

Yes I did that before I post this question. I do not know why this way works but I think the old geodatabase I had may have different reference scale settings ? P.S. I revised to give you more detail... So the annotation I have I set the Reference scale as 1:7,500. The symbol Collection I have has two. The Scale Range I set is Show annotation at all scales. I enabled the Editing Behavior. In the Layout I am working on is set to 1:8,500. If I zoom in or out ,it does not show but when I am above 1:24,000 it shows up.. Is there anything you want to know or might point the problem ?

No, I did not upgrade the annotation to ArcGIS Pro. It was done in ArcMap 10.3.1.

So when I am working on a project of a ski area, I was setting up an annotation in a File Geodatabase. Now with everything I had set up and things change and I had to go back to this annotation geodatabase and I need to fix them. It is funny thing that It would not let me move and even I cannot select it. I tried to do that in ArcGIS Pro but it would not allow any editable. Can anyone out there help me ? I am using ArcGIS 10.3.1 .

Hey Never Mind. I solved the problem. I just realized that when I export the map to PDF . My "Embed All Documents Fonts" was off . So, I enabled that one back on and had someone open the PDF again and that one worked. So when someone tells you their PDF had some haywire symbols on their PDF, make sure you turn on yours when you export PDF. Read when ESRI says. So this is only for ArcGIS 10.3.1 . If you are using higher than 10.3.1, I would double check on yours. Cheers !
