Hi all A quick question, I have recently loaded some data into SQL Server and now investigating how to edit this data within ArcGIS Pro. Given that this is a large dataset, I don't want to load all of the data into ArcGIS Pro and then create a definition query in order to edit the features. Something akin to Query Layer, but with ability to edit the geometry is what I am looking for. Does something like this exist? Thanks in advance for any suggestions Mark

Hi all Running ArcGIS Pro 2.5.1 When running an export python script as follows: import arcpy import os import sys if not hasattr(sys, 'argv'): sys.argv = [''] relpath = os.path.dirname(sys.argv[0]) p = arcpy.mp.ArcGISProject(relpath + "C:/tmp/5cm_2020.aprx") l = p.listLayouts()[0] if not l.mapSeries is None: ms = l.mapSeries if ms.enabled: for pageNum in range(1, ms.pageCount + 1): ms.currentPageNumber = pageNum print("Exporting {0}".format(ms.pageRow.Sciname)) pageName = ms.pageRow.Sciname l.exportToPNG(relpath + "C:/tmp/Graphics/{0}".format(ms.pageRow.name+ ".png")) Generally this works as well as expected but am seeing that some files have been exported that are missing data, as if the layout has not finished drawing but exported anyway. Is there something I am missing or has anyone experienced this? I am attempting to output over 11,000 files and manually checking to see if they are correct is a daunting prospect. Many thanks, Mark

Hi all, Am investigating using the screen widget in web app builder and have stumbled with trying to get the Draw tools working, they don't display at all. If I use any of the other Area of Interest tools like Place Name, Coordinates or Upload shapefile it wook. IF I look at the console apparently a TypeError is causing an issue. Has anyone else encountered this and is there a way to get these Draw tools working? I am using web app builder within Portal 10.7.1 Best wishes, Mark

Thank you so much Katherine, This works brilliantly and easy to understand and has saved me a fair few hours! Undoubtedly there may be other methods, but will stick with easy for now. Once again, thank you! Mark

Hi all Am struggling to work out how to update a value for an integer attribute (SLD) that is based on the values in 3 other integer fields "P", "O", "S". The following is the code I could use in ArcGIS for Desktop 10.7.1 calculate field (and based on VB): Dim x if = 1 AND = 1 AND = 1 Then x = 1 elseIf = 1 AND = 1 AND = 2 Then x = 2 elseIf = 1 AND = 1 AND = 3 Then x = 3 elseIf = 1 AND = 2 AND <= 4 Then x = 4 elseIf = 1 AND = 3 AND <> 4 Then x = 5 elseIf = 1 AND = 5 AND <= 3 Then x = 6 elseIf = 4 AND <> 4 AND <= 5 Then x = 7 else x = 0 end if If anyone can provide me with some suggestions as to how to convert this into python 3 within ArcGIS Pro I would be most appreciative, Many thanks, Mark

Hi David I finally managed to get this working. I needed to modify the following lines out_fc = os.path.join("in_memory",name) this doesn't work so changed to
out_fc = os.path.join(r"memory",name)
arcpy.Merge(path_list,merged_fc) this doesn't work so changed to
arcpy.management.Merge(path_list,merged_fc)
Many thanks for your assistance!
Best,
Mark

Hi all I am stuck with how to loop through a folder containing numerous text files containing lat and long values. The idea is to open a text file, create an XY layer and then append the result into a layer within a geodatabase. I can do the following which takes a single text file, creates the xy layer and then appends this xy layer to the geodatabase layer: # XYTableToPoint.py # Description: Creates a point feature class from input table # import system modules import arcpy # Set environment settings arcpy.env.workspace = r"C:\Projects\points\test.gdb" # Set the local variables in_table = r"D:\points\split_data\file_1.txt" out_feature_class = "file1" x_coords = "field7" y_coords = "field6" z_coords = "" # Make the XY event layer... arcpy.management.XYTableToPoint(in_table, out_feature_class,x_coords, y_coords, z_coords, arcpy.SpatialReference(4326)) # Print the total rows print(arcpy.GetCount_management(out_feature_class)) arcpy.management.Append("file1", r"C:\Projects\points\test.gdb\all_Points", "NO_TEST", 'id "id" true true false 25 Text 0 0,First,#,file1,Field1,0,8000;individualCount "individualCount" true true false 15 Text 0 0,First,#,file1,Field2,0,8000;year "year" true true false 4 Long 0 0,First,#,file1,Field3,-1,-1;month "month" true true false 2 Short 0 0,First,#,file1,Field4,-1,-1;country "country" true true false 255 Text 0 0,First,#,file1,Field5,0,8000;decimalLatitude "decimalLatitude" true true false 8 Double 0 0,First,#,file1,Field6,-1,-1;decimalLongitude "decimalLongitude" true true false 8 Double 0 0,First,#,file1,Field7,-1,-1;Name "Name" true true false 100 Text 0 0,First,#,file1,Field8,0,8000', '', '') This works fine but this would be tedious to do edit and rerun manually for each file (potentially over a 1000 files). Any advice most welcome. Mark

Hi All I am using the Iterate feature selection to output multiple shapefiles from a geodatabase layer which works well and all files go into a single folder. Essentially, the files are named using a species name attribute e.g. %value% I would like to know is it possible to add to this model that instead of copying the shapefiles into a single folder, it copies these shapefiles to specific folders that is another field in the shapefile - in this case the Family name of the species e.g. Corncrake = species name for the shapefile Rallidae is the attribute for the Family Name field in the corncrake shapefile then copy corncrake into a folder called Rallidae Many thanks for any suggestions Mark
