Strangely enough I an enquiring about this as I have 2.3 installed and I wanted to upgrade to 2.4. I am using an SQL Server 2012 and 2.4 doesn't support 2012. The database is due to be upgraded this year but until then..... I'm now going to do some edits so hopefully by running 2.3.3 it doesn't cause errors. I'd rather not have to downgrade it. The alternative is to downgrade my ArcMap 10.7 to ArcMap 10.6.1. However, I'm trying to be modern and use ArcGIS Pro as much as possible. This idea has only been reviewed and isn't yet under consideration. I do hope ESRI consider it. I also hope they put previous help versions on here too, rather than just doing it going forward. Finally, a workaround is to install the offline help files from older versions.

Thanks for your reply. It is an annotation but when I rotate the map I find the text rotates with it. I still want the text to remain horizontal , as it looks odd for building names to be at an angle other than horizontal.

I'm using an Ordnance Survey MasterMap base map and I've rotated a map in ArcGIS Pro 2.3.3. However, although the map has rotated, the text has not. Is it possible to rotate annotations? I need to do be solely for this map and I need to be able to select which texts are rotated, as it wouldn't apply to all

In the section on drawing layers with repsentations it has the following: Representation symbology The symbol model of ArcGIS Pro supports representation rules and can be combined with attribute-driven symbology to achieve cartographic outcomes with field-based representation overrides. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/layer-properties/draw-layers-with-representations.htm#GUID-64834C21-E0C6-4368-97D9-5F415941A568https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/layer-properties/attribute-driven-symbology.htm By saying the symbology model of ArcGIS Pro supports representation rules I assume they mean it supports the just display of them rather than modification. It looked at the attribute driven symbology options [Attribute-driven symbology—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop ] and they don't include offsetting lines.

This idea is showing as new but was created in 2012. It is a good idea though.

I now need this for lines. It's also in a corporate database so I don't really want to create a parallel version. One option is to make one of the lines thicker than the other so it displays underneath. I'd rather they were side by side though. I will also search arcgis ideas and if their is no idea, I will add it.

When using ArcMap 10, I believe there are some issues with aliases going over 31 characters in length in a File Geodatabase when doing some geoprocessing tasks. For example make query table. Are there any issues when using the latest ArcGIS Pro 2.2.3, especially if the aliases contains spaces or is longer than 31 characters. What about ArcMap 10.6.1? Thanks

Thanks Thomas Useful help, I don't have time to continue this further at the moment but I do hope to come back to it. Not all of my tables are spatial. Only one is.

When making sure the table only has unique LIP_KEY values and making that the primary key for ArcMap I get the below error: Error reading OID from table. Reading rows has been stopped. Check that the datasource is valid. The database in question is running as a 2008 compatible SQL Server database but it held on a later version of SQL Server. I forget which though. The full results are returned in SQL Server with no errors.

I wasn't sure about using Schema Binding as the underlying tables are used by another application which generated them and I didn't wish to do anything that impacted on that. I'm read only viewing the data. However my view has 5 left joins so I guess it rules it out. Those are needed in order for rows that don't match to still be returned. If I didn't a lot of my data wouldn't show up as required. I don't have any problems in SQL Server with this, just ArcMap.
