Hi everyone I am trying to retrieve the MapLayers on my Map using ArcGIS Mobile 10.1 and i am getting only one item on it, even my MobileCache having more than ten items. I added my mobile cache on the map using this command below: myMap.MapLayers.Add(mobileCache); See attached picture.

I got the solution by using MapGraphicLayers. See attached to see if it is what you are looking for.

Thanks for the information Tim. I was afraid this was going to be the "answer". I have already made a geodatabase annotation featureclass as a work around but I'm having issues with this as well. The annotations are oriented differently when it's opened in the mobile application plus they do not re-size when zooming in/out. I'm just starting down this path though so I'm sure there are some settings I need to adjust. Thanks, Chad I got the solution. Ask me if you want. See picture attached.

Thank you, Esri Support Any alternative beyond the annotation one so far? Prior we had the Paint event with the DrawText but in 10.1 we don't have it anymore. Regards Ezequias

For all thoses who is trying add custom GraphicLayers to WPF Map.. a short way is:
MobileCache md = new MobileCache("MapCache");
md.Open();
mapControl1.MapLayers.AddRange(md);
mapControl1.ExtentChanged += new EventHandler(mapControl1_ExtentChanged);
GraphicLayer gl = new GraphicLayer();
ESRI.ArcGIS.Mobile.Geometries.Point p = new ESRI.ArcGIS.Mobile.Geometries.Point(new ESRI.ArcGIS.Mobile.Geometries.Coordinate(mapControl1.GetExtent().XCenter, mapControl1.GetExtent().YCenter));
mapControl1.MapGraphicLayers.Add(gl);//Carefull with the order of this 2 lines
gl.GeometryBag.Add(p);
This sample adds a point in the center of the current extend. How about adding a Text in the center of the map? I tryed with labels but it does not reflect on my MobileCache. Regards Ezequias

I have found the solution to this problem in the post below: http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/10700-Non-editable-Layer?p=342721#post342721 Hi I am having a message error when trying to insert a new record to a FeatureSource from ArcGIS Mobile 10.1 Here is my code: FeatureSource ftrSource = GetFeatureSource("MyLayer", mobileCache); FeatureDataRow dataRowManobraPonto = ftrSource.GetDataTable().NewRow(); <-- here I got the exception (attached) Is there have any suggestion I must check ? Should I use the Insert Method that FeatureDataReader implements? If yes please how to get a FeatureDataRecord from my FeatureLayer? Ps: I am also attaching my Mobile Service (print screen) that was the source of my MobileCache and my Cache. Sincerely.

To check if it is possible to edit data you can use
if (featureLayer.AllowNew || featureLayer.AllowModify)
{
}
The only condition for editing data is an existing GLOBAL_ID field in the feature class. You can add it in ArcCatalog. I think the Operation Allowed in ArcGIS Server Mobile Service must be ON (to insert/delete/update). Are you agree with me? Regards Ezequias

I think I have found the solution. private void map1_MouseUp(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { double x = e.GetPosition(sender as Map).X; double y = e.GetPosition(sender as Map).Y; Coordinate coord = new Coordinate(mainMap.ToMap(Convert.ToInt32(x),Convert.ToInt32(y))); }

But how to add custom tools on 10.1? I would like to make selections on my FeatureSource but I haven't as I have MapActions (in 10.0 Windows) in WPF. Is there any alternative to set tools to my Windows Mobile WPF application? Regards Ezequias

Sammer I am trying to make an insert. I am outside the ArcMap environment and this alternatives where tryed,but 3 and 4 (thanks). I also tryed a RowBuffer. Just in case. I am trying to update a dbf file, not a shapefile. Any other suggestion? What such strange error message. Regards Ezequias I found the problem. I simply set the "value" of set_value method to a variable and BINGO. Quite strange. I think it is a bug. Regards Ezequias

Hi, I have suggestions 🙂 ! try doing this one by one. 1. For shapefile first try without doing startediting and stopediting. 2. trying using same code without starteditoperation and stopeditoperation coz this is used for SDE. 3. try using IEditor instead of workspaceedit. 4. trying using Ifeatureclass.search instead of update. something outta this should work!
