Thank you for posting this Idea, Mike. There is a way to set the UTC time field to follow specific time zones from ArcGIS Server Manager, as shown in the following Knowledge article: How To: Set the UTC time field to follow a specific time zone I'm curious if this workflow of manually enforcing a specific time zone on the service works for you in this case?

Thank you for posting this idea, I've gone ahead and marked it as "Reviewed." I'd like to understand some more about this request from an ArcGIS Enterprise context. With ArcGIS Enterprise, sharing with "Everyone" is dependent on the network which ArcGIS Enterprise is connected to - if it's an internal network with no external connections allowed, sharing with "Everyone" will still be restricted by the network architecture and no external connections can view the content. So with that in mind, would ArcGIS Enterprise users still be interested in using functionality such as a Shared Link? If so, how would it be used which differs from Sharing with "Everyone" and using the URL for the item?

Hi there Ted, thank you for submitting this idea! I wanted to check - are you using ArcGIS Enterprise here? You should be able to use any boundary files that you upload to Portal for ArcGIS within Insights. Any custom geography can be published using the Publish Boundary Layers tool, and should be able to work within Insights. Some documentation on publishing boundary layers are here, specifically the information on using the publishboundarylayers.bat command line tool will be most helpful. If this workflow did not work for you, let me know and we may need to investigate further.

Are you as excited about Enterprise Sites as we are?! Shannon did a great job of showing how easy it is to quickly get a fully functional site up and running which references your ArcGIS Enterprise data, without having to write any code. We're excited to see how our users will be taking advantage of this new functionality.

Very excited to see Jack spotlight the power of sharing and collaboration in fostering "Societal GIS." The power and potential of WebGIS is huge, and it's exciting to see how users are building a better future with it. Feel free to comment below on how sharing and collaborating data has worked for you, we'd love to hear it!

Hi Allan, thank you for submitting this Idea. I wanted to share some resources which may potentially help you out here. In ArcGIS Server, there is a way to disable schema locking on map services, on a per-service basis. We also have some documentation on schema locking in the Desktop documentation pages which helps to provide some additional information on how locks may be affecting your schemas. If you have not experimented with disabling schema locking on the services in question, I would recommend seeing if that setting may make your administrative tasks easier. Please feel free to reply and let me know if there's any further information about how schema locks via ArcGIS Enterprise/ArcGIS Server are affecting you.

Thanks for your response, David. Allow me to rewind a moment and make sure we're on the same page here. I brought up ArcGIS Enterprise deployment in the cloud because this also includes ArcGIS Server, which can be engaged with in the same way that ArcGIS Server would if installed on a physical server machine. Users can opt to install just ArcGIS Server in AWS/Azure, and work with it much like a "hosted" version of ArcGIS Server - though this is still done on a per-customer basis. Am I now correct that you are looking for Esri to provide their own hosted version of ArcGIS Server for customers to have user accounts associated with, which they can use to publish GIS Services to the web from? If this is the case, I'd love to know some more about your desired use cases with such a solution. What kinds of workflows would you like to achieve with a "Hosted" ArcGIS Server?

Thank you for submitting this Idea. There are currently a couple of existing options which customers can take if they wanted to deploy ArcGIS Enterprise in a cloud platform. I recommend taking a look at our documentation, which covers different options for deployment using AWS or Azure. There are also Esri Managed Cloud Services which helps to make deploying ArcGIS Enterprise in the cloud a quick and hassle-free process.

For those who are reading this and may not be aware, disabling the services directory is possible, though it must be done through the ArcGIS Server Administrator Directory and not through the Web Adaptor. Disable the Services Directory Once the services directory is disabled in this way, it is disabled across the site, regardless of whether a Web Adaptor is used or not. This idea is asking for the ability to disable the service directory at the Web Adaptor level while still allowing access when using the internal ports of 6080/6443. If you have any additional use cases for how such a workflow would be beneficial, please continue to leave them in the comments below.

Thank you for providing this Idea and use case here! The current way to accomplish something like this would be to create a new data set from the selected features. Selections are designed to be a temporary workflow for targeting areas of interest within the map, but if pre-determined selection areas should be shared and focused on, then saving them as a new data set would be beneficial. The new data set can then added into the map as a second layer, and the map can be shared and analyzed. That being said, thank you for providing this feedback, if you have any other aspects to this desired functionality which you would like to expand on, please feel free to leave it in the comments.
