Not really. The location where they want me to add the code is confusing me. If you look at the code in the tutorial, they want you copy and paste it under: protected function convexHull_openHandler(event:Event):void { // TODO Auto-generated method stub This "protected function" doesn't exist in my code.

I'm taking the course "Extending the ArcGIS Viewer for Flex" and I have a problem with a custom widget. In "Step 5: Wire the event handlers" they are asking me to "Create a new instance of FeatureLayer and assign it to the existing myFeatureLayer instance variable". I have attached the instructions and code. It says to create this within the "open handler function", can any one show me where this is?

I found where I went wrong now. I had the "load="{map.extent = louisville.fullExtent}"/>" as a separate line, when it should have been a part of the "<esri:ArcGISDynamicMapServiceLayer" line. Thanks Robert

I'm doing a tutorial on the API for Flex using flash builder and I'm having a problem. In this exercise I'm creating a cached map service with a tiled map service as the base map, and setting the extent. I have followed the tutorial to the tea, but I keep getting "Object is not assigned". Can anyone see where I'm going wrong.

I have administrative rights on my laptop. I had IT look it over and apparently my Microsoft Office Suite was missing something. He reinstalled it and it's working now. Thanks Jason.

I'm trying to install maps for office on my laptop. During the install the system check window pops up and I get a X next to the "supporting files installed". It tells me to check that office 2010 or later is installed, which it is. And then to select the install prerequisites button to installed the required office features, which I do. I get nothing, it just goes back to the system check window and the same instructions. Can anyone help me?

Yes I did. This time I closed the browser tab with the Flex in it, and reopened it instead of just refreshing it, and now it works. Thanks Robert.

I created a custom popup in the popup configure window. Everything works fine in using the preview tab in the application builder and in IE but the popup will only show the regular key value popup in Firefox not custom. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
