Hmm, I am using Pro 2.7.1. I will test this behaviour on a different project. Thanks for checking.

Just to add that I noticed last week that Layer Masking also resets (unfortunately) when changing the definition query of a layer that is being used as the mask.

Hi there I am not a specialist in this field but will attempt to answer some of it, but hopefully someone from Esri can jump in and correct me. So, firstly, I am surprised that the Topographic basemap that you downloaded gets blurred as it should be a Vector Tile package where the lines should still remain crisp at most scales. Can you confirm that it is a vector tile package? Under your contents, right-click on the World Topographic Map that you downloaded and go to Properties, then Metadata and confirm that Vector Tile Package is listed under Tags? Historically enabling Vector Tile Basemaps was done at the administrator level for your organisation, hence we need to check. I suspect that to create a mmpk of the entire New Zealand you will probably have to go with a Vector Tile Package in your mmpk. The file sizes are just so much smaller than in standard Tile packages. I had a quick look at the NZ LIZ topographic map and it is a geotiff served off an Image Server. To download this at reasonable resolution for NZ will just be too much for any mmpk I suspect. You may need to break the country up into regions and then create an MMPK for each region. But it is always best practice to focus on a smaller sample area to test the methodology (resolution and file sizes in this case) to assess whether your approach may be feasible. So choose a smaller area and then play around with downloading the LNZ topographic map at a resolution that may be acceptable, then try and go larger to see if that can work. However you may find that one of the other Esri Vector Tile basemap options may work for you (take a look at the Navigation basemap, the OpenStreetMap may also be a good option) Good luck

It sounds like the resolution of your image is too coarse. I am not sure which layer disappears? NZ LINZ ... or World Topographic, but the cause is the same. When you downloaded the World Topographic map, you had to select a maximum scale for the vector layers. If you select a more coarse scale (larger) value, then when you zoom in beyond that scale, then the map will disappear in Pro. Basically the data is too coarse to be visualised properly. So when this happens, you need to try and download a finer scale version of the layer. The good news is that if you put this MMPK onto a mobile device, and view it in either ArcGIS Field maps for ArcGIS Explorer, the layers should still be visible regardless of how far you zoom in, it may just not be very clear!

You need to remove the basemap. I can see you still have it included in your map even though it is not visible.

By default, an online basemap is provided with each map you create. This is an online map and if you dont convert it to a tile package, then you can include it in your MMPK as a live layer, but for that you require the publisher extension. But I am guessing you would like to include it as an offline layer in your MMPK. This is super easy to do. So with your live Esri basemap in your map and visible (World Topographic Map in your example), from the Map tab and the Offline group, click on the drop-down menu next to Download Map and tick the "Include basemap & tile layers" checkbox. You also need to select an appropriate scale for your basemap. Then download the basemap and it will automatically be added to your map. Make sure to remove the online basemap and then also ensure that your map projection is the same as your offline basemap (in this case it will be Web Mercator). You should then be able to create your MMPK with the offline basemap and all your other data that was included in the map.

Hi Ken Check that the coordinate system for the map is set to Web Mercator before creating the MMPK. The base map tile cache and map projection need to be the same. Cheers Mervyn

It can a bit tricky but what works for me: 1) Select the polygon, or polygons, that you want to copy across to another layer. 2) With your cursor still over the map view, with the map view active, right-click and choose Copy. 3) Then from the Map tab and Clipboard group, select the option to Paste Special. 4) Then select the required feature layer from the list of available editable options. It is important to make sure that the map view is active, not the Contents pane or any of the other panes.

Hi Cody We only use Android on our mobile phones and tablets. We don't have any iOS devices but perhaps this is something we will need to reconsider if Esri is unable to start development on an Android version. There is no IT policy that would prohibit us from doing so, it is more a budgetary constraint at the moment. Regards Mervyn

I have used this approach successfully in the past for feature classes. Only other suggestions would be to check you are using the Maplex labeling engine? Then what data type is your orange layer? Not that I would know that much about what layers work and which may not (I suspect map services may not). Probably best to log this with tech support.

I created an app using the Map Viewer template 4.3 early yesterday. I was then able to successfully create installation files for it later the day for both Windows (64 but) and Android devices. Not iOS. Today I needed to modify the settings to refer to a group instead of a single map, and now it can only successfully create the installation files for Android. It also fails with same error message as above for Windows. See screen shot. So the problem is not just with the iOS cloud make server it seems

Under the label placement properties, you will need to add a very high feature weight to your orange polygon (a weight of a 1000). For more information see Prevent labels from overlapping certain features—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation.

So if the suitability is the same outside of your 100m buffer, then it should be appropriate to assign them all the same value of 10. For your second raster it makes sense to use the distance approach from your polygon features provided there is gradient of decreasing suitability from your source polygons.

If the suitability is gradually increased as one moves away from buildings, the you could try running the new Distance Accumulation GP tool (or the legacy Euclidean Distance GP tool) with your building as feature source data. The other input fields are optional. The output will be a raster surface with the lowest value of 0 (your buildings) with values increasing as you move away from your buildings. Next you can use the Rescale By Function GP tool to reclassify all your values between 10 and 1. See Rescale by Function (Spatial Analyst)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation There are various transformation functions that you can use and these relate to the kind of suitability and how quickly it increases or decreases. Do see this link for a detailed explanation of options The transformation functions available for Rescale by Function—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation Then you can use the same approach for your second raster but reverse the From scale and To scale values in the Rescale by Function tool. Good luck.
