You may want to right click on your point layer, select Join and Relates, and then Spatial Join. Your target features will be the point file and *join features* your lines. The Join operation will be One to many. Match operation will be intersect. The output should give you a new point layer containing a field* Join_count* which is a count of the number of lines intersecting the points.

To run this script you will need ArcMap 10.3.1 (with this http://support.esri.com/en/downloads/patches-servicepacks/view/productid/66/metaid/2284) or 10.4 or Pro 1.2.

You need to use the* Geoprocessing* tool, Add Geometery Attributes. This tool will add a column at the end of your attribute table with the desired area calculation. You need to specify the projection to use in the area calculation.

Pro automatically applies a stretch to any raster added to the display, so if you say that your geoprocessing derived hillshade does not look that great, then there is a good chance that a stretch has being applied to is. For hillshade you do not want any stretch to be applied to your raster. Try using the Appearance menu and under Sstretch type select None. You can also select Bilinear under Resampling Type for better display of a continuous variable.

Try shutting down and then reopening ArcGIS Pro and then trying the join again (worked for me a few months back with Pro 1.2). Although probably not what you are looking for, you can try running the Excel to Table geoprocessing tool and then the join.

Hi Rob It is possible to just click and drag items under the Legend list. You may need to click on the side triangle to expand the list, or the Legend may be locked (clicking on the lock symbol either opens or locks the legend items). In my example below, I could easily drag items and that changed the order in the legend display. Regards Mervyn

Your categorical data is on an ordinal scale from low to high so I suspect it is OK to use in these tools. I am not aware of any specific scale requirements, it simply needs a range of high and low values. For each of your variables, do you want to identify statistically significant clusters of high values, and statistically significant clusters of low values? If so then the (Optimised) Hotspot and Cluster and Outlier Analysis tools are the ones you need. Run both as both tools tell you something different about your data (I am not aware than any one is better than the other, they just tell you something different about your data). But these tools will run on individual datasets so they would need to be run on each of your 5 variables. I am not sure of the question you are trying to solve but if you have several datasets (for each of you variables) that you want to combine in one analysis, then consider running the Group Analysis tool to create groups that share similar values. You may want to try this on your 5 raw categorical values as well as from the outputs from the (optimised) Hotspot Analysis. So in the latter analysis, use the z-values from each of the 5 runs in the analysis field. Before you do so, you would need to create a new feature class, or add them as columns to your existing one, and import the z-values from each of your Hotspot/Cluster and Outlier Analysis runs (which ever you prefer). The z-values represent the strength of the clustering that is observed in your data, not the areas with highest and lowest values, so it will tell you something different about your dataset that is perhaps statistically more significant. Lastly, there are some great resources from the previous years UCs that you should watch if you have not already done so. Hi Dane So you would need to create a new shapefile or geodatabase feature, and then to this add rectangles. To do so you can run the Create Features Class geoprocessing tool. If you to not direct output to a geodatabase, then the new file will be a shapefile. Cheers

Hi Dane I am on the road so difficult to reply in detail, but I had a similar problem but solution is very easy. With the create features side panel active, open the templates window and there is an option to define the editing tools for that layer. Here you simply click on the boxes that would activate drawing tools such as rectangles, circles, etc. I am not sure why they are not all activated by default. Good luck.
