I still think this has to do with the basemap. I don't have access to your new map, nor do I have the same basemap option of "OSM Basic" in my org (orgs can set up their own gallery of basemaps). I would try the imagery basemap, or imagery hybrid, if you have either of those in your org's basemap gallery.

I put your layer in a map with the Imagery Hybrid basemap and that one downloads for me in Collector on Windows.

When I try to download a copy of your map that I saved in Collector on Windows, I get a message about the World Hillshade service you are using in the basemap not supporting export of tiles. Have you tried a different basemap?

Your map is not shared publicly so it is asking me to sign in. But from a look at your layer, I'm wondering if you enabled offline access for it. If you go to the layer and view the settings tab, do you have sync enabled on it?

Earth is round and there are globes in many classrooms. But when we talk about maps we are often talking about flat maps (either on paper or on a screen). How does something round become something flat? Grab an orange and explore projections! ArcGIS StoryMaps > Flattening Earth

It would take some processing of your existing data to move to, of course, but if I was setting up this project today I would use related records. The Collector doc has some recommendations about this. Look at how to set up your data to record current status but also have historical records available: Design your layer—ArcGIS Collector | Documentation

Hi Mary - The time it can be a drawback is if your accuracy isn't that good, it won't be automatically used for collection. For example, when you start a new collection, a point is added to the map at your location. If your accuracy requirement isn't met, this won't happen. Instead, you'd have to add the point yourself. If you are doing streaming, points are only collected while accuracy is met. This can be good: if you weren't aware of your accuracy, and you do have requirements on what it needs to be to use a location, it stops you from collecting data that you don't want (because of its accuracy). But if you don't have accuracy requirements, and you would always use the data, having a lower value for required accuracy will lead to you having to override that accuracy requirement more often.

Hi Anna Wegbreit sorry for my delayed reply! For the error you are getting, did you create your data following this tutorial, or a different way? Those options were in the old Collector -- the UI has changed in the latest version.

Hi Kelly -- As Collector is designed to be a field app, it is focused on inspections that are done in the field. In your case, yes, you'd have to do the steps many times, and Collector probably wouldn't be your best solution. However, if this is something you'd like to see for related records, please submit an Idea. Thanks!

Could you email me the link to it? OneDrive hasn't notified me at all, so I'm not sure what I'd need to do to access it.

I am not seeing the email with a VTPK - it might have been blocked in the email. Did you upload it to AGOL or have a OneDrive link I could try? (That said, I think all I'd be able to do is confirm for you that OneDrive is the problem in the workflow, and I'm not sure if that confirmation is worth the trouble of sharing it since you can't use other file sharing apps.)

Could you try using something other than OneDrive and the Files app, like maybe Box or Google Drive? If possible, do this with a copy of the VTPK that hasn't been in OneDrive -- once Colin mentioned it I do know we saw some oddness when trying to use OneDrive with the Files app.

GeoInquiries are a great introduction to GIS for teachers and students alike. Through them, you can get familiar with ArcGIS Online through maps that fit into your curriculum, align with standards you are already teaching to, and are even tied to textbooks. But one of the hurdles with technology is keeping up with its changing pace, and GIS is no exception. And that's good -- the evolution of ArcGIS is making it easier and more powerful. But it does mean you sometimes need to step back and relearn a tool. The time to relearn Map Viewer (where you see maps) in ArcGIS Online is approaching. The next generation of Map Viewer is available now in beta. But don't worry! The GeoInquiries you like, and that helped you get comfortable in the GIS world in the first place? Well, we have updated some of the most popular of them to use the new Map Viewer Beta. You can use these to jump into the new Map Viewer Beta, get familiar, and start seeing what it will be like using the new version. The five GeoInquiries available for the Map Viewer Beta cover a range of the capabilities that are popular in the GeoInquiries collections. Each includes an updated map using Map Viewer Beta along with updated steps and tips that reflect the changes in the site. To see all the BETA GeoInquiries, see: http://esriurl.com/geoinquiriesMVBGroup The following are available for Map Viewer Beta: Earth Science: Topography and Our National Heritage (PDF) (map) Human Geography: Distance and Scale (PDF) (map) Upper Elementary: Ecosystems and Biomes (PDF) (map) US History: The Dust Bowl (PDF) (map) World History: The Crusades (PDF) (map) (To view the exercise, click PDF above and on the page that opens, click the blue Open button.) We want your feedback on these! Please share your thoughts by commenting here or by emailing us at geoinquiries@esri.com. Keep in mind that Map Viewer Beta is a beta (so not a released product) and as such it is guaranteed to change and evolve more. In addition, not all the functionality of the existing Map Viewer is available in the beta yet, but it will be. We'll be keeping an eye on the beta, and updating these GeoInquiries as needed. If you notice change we missed, please let us know by emailing geoinquiries@esri.com (or by posting a comment here).

~~Something seems to be wonky in the survey for me... I can't seem to check an option for the question about how long I've been a member, and it keeps saying it is required while not letting me pick one.~~ Also, is it a trick question? Didn't GeoNet just start in 2014, and the forum site was called something else (and its date not represented by the profile "member since" date)? **Updated: Nevermind on the wonky part, it just isn't showing the radio button as selected but is using a selection color on the box instead. But I still think it is a weird question given the date GeoNet started....**
