Hi Michael, That's a good solution for the case where the previous step requires some user interaction. I'd also like to see it to work with steps that execute automatically. I know how I can do it with stand alone Python scripts and JTXStep.ExecuteGPTool but it would be great if this principle (of passing on and acting on return codes) could make be incorporated in the WMX Workflow Framework. I filed an enhancement request through Esri NL support (Esri Incident #1144174, your ref: 1045974 (Steven E), maybe you can find the whole conversation with these reference numbers in NIMBUS). The problem with the stand alone Python script solution is that you can't use take the output from a GPTool variable and create a returncode from the output variable (unless you wrap that GPTool into a stand alone Python script) . Here's the general idea applied to a GPTool in a JTXCustomStep.ExecuteGPTool step where you can specify the name of the output variable of the GPTool that will hold the returncode. And adding to that. Allow some simple logic to be executed within that popup, field calculator or label expression style (or conditionaly formatting in Excel). I would like to see requests shipped with ArcGIS. I've been using it to interact with AGOL and I think it makes communication between ArcGIS and AGOL a lot easier with only a few lines of code. arcpy.da is a Defense Analyst module? Is there a reason to use a Search Cursor in arcpy.da instad of the one in arcpy? The standard arcpy Search Cursor sort fields syntax is "FIELD_1 A; FIELD_2 D"  to sort the first assending and the second decending. Of course, in a different module the syntax could very well be very different.... after all, let's remember who wrote these modules. Nope arcpy.da.SearchCursor is a 10.1 Data Access SearchCursor and it uses a slightly different syntax. Best reason to use the da.SearchCursor instead of the old SearchCursor is speed and fexibility. You don't need to call reset(), you should be able to just do for row in arcpy.da.SearchCursor(layer,("SHAPE@","OID@"),sWhereClause,None,False,sql_clause): and avoid all that extra code. I'm afraid Explorer Online only finds the first item at the location (all the points are actually there in the map still, but the action that shows the popup will find the first one only). This is a known issue, and I'm afraid I dont have a date for when this may be resolved. Hi Shelly, I don't think it's an ArcGIS Explorer online thing but a hosted services thing. If I host the Featureclass as a feature service on my own ArcGIS server I get multiple items in the pop-up, see the attachment. It shows 88 features at one location, showing the 4th one in the popup and the popup has the up and down arrows to browse through the 88 results. Hi Mandar, Problem solved. Only thing I don't understand exactly is what made the difference. In the end I decided to stop and remove the listener, then recreated the listener en proceeded with the instructions as mentioned in the online help. Now everything is working fine. The thing that is different now is the IP=V6_ONLY entry in listener.ora. I found out the ICT people pushed an update from IPv4 to IPv6. That broke my listener. That's when I decided to reinstall the listener service and added the IP=V6_ONLY entry. I'm not sure if that made the difference because I can't go back to the old situation. I checked I had the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) installed, but nevertheless re-installed it. The installer offered to repair my existing installation, so it was definitely installed previously.
