The API will not allow the edit of table or feature classes involved in Annotation and Dimension feature classes, Relationship Classes, Networks (GN and ND), Topologies, Terrains, Representations, Parcel Fabrics and Edit Tracked tables/feature classes. Screen shots showing the content of the file geodatabase would be helpful. Regards, Lance Shipman

Thread support will not be changing at 1.4. We are aware of the XML library issue, but it we will not be replacing it at the 1.4 release. ORDER BY on DATE and INTEGER columns is supported. Be aware that the ordering field must be included in the field list. This is true in ArcObjects and in the API. We do not see a crash in windows when creating a FGDB after deleting another FGDB. Please supply example code. We don't see a crash when invalid SQL is used. Please supply example code. We will not be including gcc on windows at 1.4. We already support VS2010, VS2012, and VS2013. Linux 32-bit, Linux 64-bit, Both gcc and Clang on MacOS.

File Geodatabase API supports all versions of 10.x. v 1.3 does not support reading or writing compressed data. Reading compressed data will be supported at v 1.4. We have been buried under the 10.3 ArcGIS release and the Pro 1.0 release so haven't had a chance to finish up 1.4. We hope to have an estimate of the release date soon.

Switching into load only mode and back will rebuild the index. This is what is expected by ArcGIS: PROJCS["British_National_Grid",GEOGCS["GCS_OSGB_1936",DATUM["D_OSGB_1936",SPHEROID["Airy_1830",6377563.396,299.3249646]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0.0],UNIT["Degree",0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION["Transverse_Mercator"],PARAMETER["False_Easting",400000.0],PARAMETER["False_Northing",-100000.0],PARAMETER["Central_Meridian",-2.0],PARAMETER["Scale_Factor",0.9996012717],PARAMETER["Latitude_Of_Origin",49.0],UNIT["Meter",1.0]] This is what your feature class contains: PROJCS["British National Grid",GEOGCS["Ordnance Survey Great Brit",DATUM["Ordnance Survey Great Brit",SPHEROID["Airy 1830",6377563.396,299.3249646]],PRIMEM["Greenwich",0.0],UNIT["Degree",0.0174532925199433]],PROJECTION["Transverse_Mercator"],PARAMETER["False_Easting",400000.0],PARAMETER["False_Northing",-100000.0],PARAMETER["Central_Meridian",-2.0],PARAMETER["Scale_Factor",0.9996012717],PARAMETER["Latitude_Of_Origin",49.0],UNIT["Meter",1.0]] ArcOBJECTS and the File Geodatabase API compare these strings and since yours is seen as different, it is seen as "Custom". What was the source of this data and how was it loaded?

ArcGIS see's your feature class as a "Custom" projection. The feature class I created as UK National Grid is not seen as "Custom". The projection information is the same. The xy domains are very different. I'll talk to the projection team and see what they have to say.

I'm able to open a feature class named "DMA" which is in the UK national grid, so the coordinate system is unlikely to be the problem. The fact that you can't open it and ExecureSQL can't find it, but ArcCatalog can see it. Was the file geodatabase upgraded from an earlier version (9.x). If so create a new file geodatabase and copy the data into it. Try to open the DMA feature class in the new file geodatabase. Can you compile and run the C# samples? The display sample will not compile without additional software (see the readme). Run the Query sample.

I'm able to open a table named "DMA", so it's not a name issue. Can you supply more information on the coordinate system? What is the name of the projection? The datum? Amy details would be helpful. As an experiment reproject the data or a subset into Robinson or similar. Is the feature class involved in a network, topology or anything similar?

Your best bet is to contact Technical Support and they will get the data to me as part of the incident. If you can use data recovery software to recover the files just before the copy, you may be good. If there is no system lock (windows locks the files if they are open by another process). The file geodatabase lock files are simply empty tables and if they are not active will be overwritten. My e-mail address is lshipman@esri.com. A note on locking is that the locks are by process, not user. So if you have several desktop sessions open, accessing the same data, there can be lock conflicts. We suggest that ArcGIS be used for copying file geodatabases because we handle the locking (both our locking and window locking) cleanly.
