Hi Jodie, We haven’t seen any examples of this before. Would it be possible for you to contact technical support and share a copy of your .mxd and .pagx file with them? Thanks, David

Thanks for the valuable feedback Sean. We are working hard to add the features you are looking for. The 1.1 release of ArcGIS Pro will include rulers, guides and snapping with improvements above and beyond ArcMap like smart snapping. It will also include new and improved extent indicators that you mentioned. Beyond 1.1 we have plans to add data driven pages, further enhance legends, and continue to add the functionality that you are requesting. Our hope is to not only match the functionality of ArcMap, but improve upon it where we can. This will take some time, but hopefully, as we add more, we'll meet more and more of your needs. Take a look at 1.1 when it becomes available early this summer, and keep providing feedback. It helps us set the priorities and direction of what we do next. Thanks again, David

For the 1.1 release of ArcGIS Pro we are adding Rulers, Guides and Layout Snapping. This should help with aligning elements and setting up your layouts. This is available to start playing with at Beta 1. In addition to Rulers and Guides, version 1.1 (planned for June) will include Extent Indicators and some additional metadata dynamic text. The big new thing for ArcGIS Pro at 1.1 is .NET SDK that will give you additional options for automating the sorts of things you do with layouts.

In ArcGIS Pro you can also set transparency at the color level. So, you could potentially give the polygon's different colors and set transparency for them separately. To change the transparency on a color go to the Color Swatch and select "More Colors..." at the bottom. Then in the Color Editor you can set transparency. I believe this will give you the effect you want.

It is possible to create a grid in ArcMap and convert it to graphics or use Grid and Graticule Layers in ArcMap to create a grid of features and then it will be included in your map when you import it to ArcGIS Pro.

Hi David, To answer your original question, ArcGIS Pro, as an application, does not require credits. However, it does provide access to services from ArcGIS Online, such as Data Enrichment or Geocoding that do consume credits. This is no different than the way ArcMap or other apps that access these credit based services work. Here is a list of what services consume credits and their usage: http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/arcgisonline/credits David

Hi Alex, If your Organization is current on maintenance, if you go to the Products Tab in MyEsri, there should be a dropdown for Downloads. Under Downloads there should be a list of what you are eligible for. If you hit the View Downloads button listed for ArcGIS Pro (Prerelease) there is a Download button. If you can’t find this and you think you should be eligible please contact customer service. Thanks, David

Hi Cameron, There will not be a way to add tables to a layout in the first release of ArcGIS Pro. This is something we are targeting for a future release. David

Hi Alex, If you are one of the users of the ArcGIS Pro basic license, then you can open and run ArcGIS Pro on up to three machines at the same time while connected to ArcGIS Online or your Portal. Also, you can install and run ArcGIS Pro on a PC that is running an older version of ArcMap without any problem. David

Hi Joe, The experience for starting with a layout template is still coming. It is scheduled to be in for the final release. The experience will be similar to how you have used map documents as templates in the past, only with Pro you will share a layout as a page layout file (.pagx). You will be able to use these files as a starting point in a new project or open and add them as new layouts to existing projects. Thanks, David

Hi Joshua, This is just a timing thing. You'll need a 10.3 release of Portal in order to use if for licensing ArcGIS Pro. You got the Pre-release of Pro a little earlier than everyone else since you're in the beta program. David
