Thanks you for this SQL, I found it a lot more helpful than what is provided in the confusingly similar ESRI technical articles on this subject How To: Determine if there are orphaned replica system versions in the geodatabase How To: Determine if there are orphaned replica system versions in the geodatabase One question I have is if there could be a danger of leaving other orphan data, such as orphan database states or lineages by using SQL to delete versions instead of the delete version tool. To be on the safe side I used the tool, to delete my orphans.

We did an in place upgrade from 2008 RC2 to 2014. The only issue I ran into was poor performance on a couple of feature classes after the upgrade. Deleting and recreating the spatial index on these feature classes fixed the problems.

I haven't heard anything about them fixing this, I think they consider it more of a feature than a bug. The work around I used was to abandon using a locator and instead use a search dijit on the map layer in the map service. This also allows suggestions and didn't throw up any false ones. More info here.

Running into this exact same issue. From what I can gather from the searching I've done it should be OK if the client has the correct version of the SQL Server native client. I'm doing it on a test server tonight and will report back if I find any issues.

A ability to preserve layer and table IDs between map service updates is a great feature added at 10.3.1. Unfortunately it seems that it has to be manually applied to each dataframe when an .mxd is created. Map publishers rarely remember to enable it and I occasionally end up having to edit my applications after updates anyway. Allowing ArcMap to be configured to allow dataframes have this option turned on by default would greating enhance the usefulness of this feature.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I am having the same error. I want to register class extensions with ArcGIS Server. They are working fine with ArcMap on the same machine.

Thanks Teri this really helped us. We had the same issue. IT had Internet Explorers security setting on high and we couldn't add the server (it was in the DMZ) to the trusted zone. But we ran the setup in Firefox and it worked fine.
