Hi Mike, is there any advance regarding the ability to grant a group of organizational workers to edit certain Hosted Feature layers in a Web-Map (using Collector), while maintaining public access to the same Feature layer with watch only capability? I've tried using the "members can update all items in this group" in a special editing group, but it doesn't work for Web-Maps - only for the Feature layers themselves, thus doesn't fit the Collector app Thanks in advance, Yovav Z.

Hi Wil and Jeremy, I guess that you (Wil) ment to get a similar interface to the one in Arc Globe that asks you what is the nature of the layer you've added? Actually, the best way, right now to add surfaces is through the "Add Preset" in which you can add a Ground (raster, TIN, and so on): http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/symbols-and-styles/preset-layers.htm this is relevant only to the Scens (3D maps) and not to the 2D maps. Those Ground layers are not visible and used only as part of the ground surfaces. However, you can create a custom surface in the scene properties: http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/mapping/properties/elevation-surfaces.htm

This Video exemplify the workflow of taking your 2D data and maps and convert it to an impressive 3D scene with ArcGIS Pro. This can be done without the need for more then a Basic license level without any extension (Of course you can enrich your scene with the usage of accurate DTM and attachments). The video is based on a Demo session, given in Israel ESRI's User Conference (Systematics) 2015. 2015. Credits The data sources includes Mei-Netanya and the city of Netanya. The 3D Pictometry buildings are courtesy of PLW ModelWorks The rpk used for the buildings polygon is BuildingFacadeTexture.rpk, uploaded to ArcGIS Online by Petr Bocharnikov

Hi Jake, Nice description of the process. I've already published a post that addresses the issue thoroughly, with the 3 methods to create TPK and upload it to ArcGIS Online without the need for ArcGIS Server: Create Cache and TPK without ArcGIS for Server - Workflows for Desktop users I think That it could help people to deepen their understanding of the process, combining your screenshots. Regards.

Hi Gary, The only format for this purpose is the TPK (Tile Package format) as described here: Using your own Basemap layers with Collector for ArcGIS | ArcGIS Blog You can create these files in ArcGIS for Desktop in several methods as described in my blog post: Create Cache and TPK without ArcGIS for Server - Workflows for Desktop users The usage of these files in the collector is as Basemap. Good luck,

Hi Ben, As far as for the Desktop Tools (ArcMap), the only way is to attribute the Land Parcels as part of the CBD (some kind of a Flag field that gets 1 for CBD and 0/NULL for non-CBD parcels) and then symbolize the Parcels, using this field. Another method would be to create a new table that has 2 colomns: 1 with Parcel ID and 2nd with the above mentioned flag field. Then, create a Join of this table to the Parcels feature class and symbolize the Parcels, using this field. This can be done either by Spatial Join, or by Select by location and calculation. There is no dynamic spatial join like you would desire in Desktop shelf apps. Regards,

You're welcome. Unfortunately, I'm not very experienced at this field. Maybe you can read the article about Fundamentals of orthorectifying a raster dataset and figure it out. I guess that you could ask this data from the imagery provider.

Hi Prasanta and Jeremy, Eventually, after fiddling with the issue, Rebecca from ESRI Tech Support has managed to pinpoint the cause for this behavior (applause). It's a bug that occur only when the OS Time zone is defined as UTC+2 Jerusalem. other UTC+2 time zones doesn't present similar phenomenon, and this is the workaround for bug - chnging the Time Zone. The bug still exists in Pro 1.1 Beta. BUG-000087447: ArcGIS Pro does not recognize Jerusalem time zone, resulting in non-functionality of illumination options for global and local scenes

Hi Bryan, I'm not a code specialist, but as far as I know, you have several options without twiking with the PRO SDK: use model builder to build a geoprocessing workflow to do the job (parametrically) Use Python code to script the workflow needed (probably more efficient and potent then the former) use Tasks to create the workflow (witch can utilize more capabilities of Pro then the Model Builder) all the above methods are semi-automatic, since they demand at least one intervention by the user in order to activate/run the workflow. In order to fully automate the workflows, you might try "Schedulling a python script or model to run at prescribed time". I don't know how that fits the Pro - maybe someone with experiance/knoledge would comment here. Good luck

Hi Mahmud, Right now, the only way to revoke lost ArcGIS Pro License, is to file a request to the ESRI Tech Support. If there's a need to change any installation files (usually in the user profile), you'll be instructed by the support team.
