We do plan on supporting web scenes and 3D workflows on iOS. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a definite timeline. The new-and-improved mapping api in our Quartz Beta release makes provisions for 3D scenes to be added later on, although currently we are focused on 2D maps. Did you have any specific 3D workflows in mind? It would be great to hear what kind of apps you would like to build

Hmmm, can you try this scenario with the DownloadTileCache sample ? I've seen that resume the download when network is restored.

Thanks for reporting this, Joshua I can confirm that the status or completion blocks are not invoked when the download gets interrupted. We will look into this and evaluate what is the best behavior to implement going forward. Thinking about it some more, we don't want to prematurely fail the operation because even a slight hiccup in the network while downloading the result would fail the whole job and require the user to initiate the whole process again. As it stands today, eventhough the download appears to hang indefinitely, it does automatically restart when the network is restored. So on the bright side, it is resilient to transient network conditions. Ideally, we would have some internal timeout beyond which we would notify you and let you make the appropriate decision for your app. In the meantime, if you want to provide a better UX where the user can put the download on ice when it appears to have hung, you could provide them an option saying "Try downloading later" which could be implemented using the pause/resume methods on AGSResumableTaskJob. It might be a little tricky to know when this option should be presented - but you could try and detect if the status block stops firing for X amount of time in the middle of fetching result, or you could always have a "Cancel" and "Try later" methods along with your download indicator incase the download runs into problems (even though canceling the whole job seems like a harsh thing to do, what you really want is for the user to try again later)

If you've upgraded your development environment to the recently released XCode 7, you might have noticed that your apps started encountering problems when making network connections. Don't worry, you're not alone. Our samples also encounter the same problems when built using iOS 9 SDK. If you're wondering what's wrong, here's the deal. Apple started enforcing more stringent policies regarding network connections for apps built with iOS 9. These policies block plain HTTP connections and require that you exclusively use secure HTTPS connections that support forward secrecy. Details can be found in Apple's Technote While these changes have a noble goal - to make your app more secure - they do pose problems when third-party services you rely upon don't meet all of Apple's guidelines. On occasion, you may deliberately want to use plain HTTP connections to avoid unnecessary overhead for information that isn't sensitive and doesn't need to be protected. Fortunately, Apple provides a way to ease these policy restrictions in your app. We've updated our samples to relax these restrcitions by adding the following declaration to the info.plist file - <key>NSAppTransportSecurity</key>
<dict>
<key>NSExceptionDomains</key>
<dict>
<key>arcgisonline.com</key>
<dict>
<key>NSIncludesSubdomains</key>
<true/>
<key>NSThirdPartyExceptionAllowsInsecureHTTPLoads</key>
<true/>
<key>NSThirdPartyExceptionRequiresForwardSecrecy</key>
<false/>
</dict>
<key>arcgis.com</key>
<dict>
<key>NSIncludesSubdomains</key>
<true/>
<key>NSThirdPartyExceptionAllowsInsecureHTTPLoads</key>
<true/>
<key>NSThirdPartyExceptionRequiresForwardSecrecy</key>
<false/>
</dict>
</dict>
</dict> This change allows the samples to make HTTPS connections without requiring forward secrecy. It also permits plain HTTP connections to ArcGIS Online so that the samples can quickly load basemap layers and use sample services without needing the data to be encrypted. ArcGIS Online already supports HTTPS connections using industry leading TLS 1.2 so you can choose to use HTTPS exclusively in your app if you so desire, and we'll soon be adding support for forward secrecy ciphers so that your apps can connect to ArcGIS Online without needing to change your app's transport security policies.

Thanks for reporting. We will look into this. Can you post the full backtrace? How are you running into in in your app? Is the user trying to edit while synchronization is in progress? PS - Can you try with the latest 10.2.5 release and let us know if the problem persists?

You will need override the max scale property of the imagery basemap layer. Otherwise it will turn off if you zoom in beyond the max scale.

I can confirm what you're seeing is a bug. It appears to have started happening with version 10.3.1 of on-premise, ArcGIS Server based feature services, and, more recently with the latest update to ArcGIS Online, also with hosted feature services. The issue is that the geodatabase generated from such services includes additional indexes which prevents them from being opened successfully in the SDK. We are looking into it and hope to provide an SDK update soon to resolve the issue. EDIT : The Sync/Wildfire service works correctly because it is based on an 10.3 version of ArcGIS Server.

Do you expect the user to interactively add more vertices? Typically, this happens after the last vertex (for example, if they want to extend the route), that's why we provide an API to select the last vertex. Do you want to select the first vertex because the user needs to insert vertices after it, and not at the end of the line?
