Wow, this just happened to me in 10.6.1. Did you guys really not fix this yet? Such that the default is a blank NoData field? I just wasted 20 min trying to figure this out

I am having an issue where I've uploaded a .tpk to Portal, either through arcmap share as>tile package or through the geoprocessing tools. The tpks upload fine but when I hit publish I get the best error ever: "There was an error." when I hit the publish button. The hosted layer is created but just sitting there, it won't display in any webmaps, etc. looks ok but doesn't work. Wondering if either of you figured out your issues? Thanks!

Oh, possibly helpful details other than checking run as admin (in case others are troubleshooting): 1) deleted my existing cloned conda environment from 2.2.4 that no longer worked with 2.3 Pro (thanks for the heads up ESRI) 2) repaired the Pro installation prior to cloning by downloading installer from ESRI > My Support > Downloads > Pro 2.3 and "repairing" during install

Title says it all, 2.2.4 was finally working okay - it's speeds were tolerable and I was considering making the move to Pro, then I installed the 2.3 update and now everything is super slow, unworkable super slow, like I right click on a map layer and it takes 10 sec. for the items in the dialogue box to become selectable, meaning I right click anything in Pro and stare at my options while they are greyed out for 10 sec. and then I can select say "r-click > Properties" for example. Does anyone have any suggestions before I revert back to 2.2.4? All I did was apply the update and then check "run as administrator" on the program, those are literally the only two changes to the software/my machine - that was so I could actually clone my Python environment...but that's a different issue with this update. Ugh

Hi Dan - I solved my issue by checking "run as administrator" on Pro, then I was able to clone and install. Hopefully it's this simple for you as well.

That's it in a nutshell, just upgraded to ArcGISPro 2.3, had a nice environment set up in 2.2.4, that went away with update - it no longer functioned/errored out, so I deleted that environment, but when I attempt now to clone the default ArcGIS Pro crashes. Is this happening to anyone else or do I need to uninstall reinstall Pro?

Coincidentally, right now we're trying something similar, to publish a tile service, upload that to our Portal, then allow people to download chunks of it to Collector for offline use instead of having to side-load. If everything in your map can be offline then this might work for you: "To author a map for offline use, the map needs to contain the following: Sync-enabled feature layers—These can be hosted feature layers or ArcGIS Server feature services. Feature layers that are not sync-enabled are not supported. For details on using hosted feature layers, see Allow offline editing (ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise). For details on using ArcGIS Server feature services, see Preparing data for offline use and Tutorial: Setting up feature service data for offline use in the ArcGIS Server documentation. A basemap enabled for offline use—This can be from your own ArcGIS Server or a hosted tile layer. For details on enabling export of tiled map services, see Allow clients to export cache tiles in the ArcGIS Server documentation. (Optional) Tiled map services with export tiles enabled—See Allow clients to export cache tiles in the ArcGIS Server documentation for more information."

Hi Tom - so would each table in the above scenario be a separate Excel file?? Right now we use a single Excel worksheet to contain hundreds of boxes that describe analytical results for say 50 or so point locations on the map, these get pretty complicated with colors, italics, bold, etc. - our workflow and I'm sure for many others out there - was to open a formatted Excel worksheet and copy/paste these analyte boxes onto the layout view in ArcMap. What would be your workflow solution for the same end product in Pro? I've attached an example here...I'd hate to think that we'd have to make a completely separate excel table or file for each of these boxes (there can be several hundred for us on a given figure set), then bring them into Pro, then format all of the tables in Pro on the layout individually, etc. - that's a lot more work than a single 5 sec. copy/paste onto a layout. Also none of our scientists work in Word vs. Excel so we're always going to get one large Excel worksheet containing multiple boxes, we need to get those boxes onto a map, splitting them into a hundred individual Excel files is unrealistic. I guess what I'm asking is how you would you, in Pro, display 30 Excel boxes like I've shown below on a map efficiently? I'm reading thru the help and probably missing something, but it's just an example of one table with data from the living atlas, and it's pretty short on visuals. Thanks!

Why can't you just write the Pro label module such that the appropriate Arcade expression for the numerical properties of the field are generated, especially since Arcade is the default "landing" within the Label Class? It's very confusing to be able to open the Fields table, make changes to the numeric properties of a field, see them change in the attribute table, but then not change on your labels. I wasted a bunch of time figuring this out and I'm sure others did too, I feel like you're just trying to push Arcade a little to hard by having the labeling default to it, rather than VB or Python, when it doesn't interact naturally with the numeric properties of a field...

I got the clone thing to work after understanding the new read only implementation and uninstalling Pro and any trace of Anaconda, etc. However even now, when I see the list of packages that have updates in the package manager and try to apply any of them - my conda_debug.log shows: DEBUG:__main__:conda.cli.main called with ('C:\\Program Files\\ArcGIS\\Pro\\bin\\Python\\Scripts\\conda.exe', 'update', '--all', '-p', 'C:\\Users\\maugust\\AppData\\Local\\ESRI\\conda\\envs\\arcgispro-py3-MSA', '--json') DEBUG:__main__:Ignoring first argument (C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\bin\Python\Scripts\conda.exe), as it is not a subcommand INFO:conda.proconfig:proreg call INFO:conda.proconfig:hive call INFO:conda.proconfig:Detected ArcGISPro as product INFO:conda.proconfig:proreg call INFO:conda.proconfig:hive call INFO:conda.proconfig:Detected ArcGISPro as product DEBUG:__main__:conda.cli.main called with ('C:\\Program Files\\ArcGIS\\Pro\\bin\\Python\\Scripts\\conda.exe', 'update', 'python', '-p', 'C:\\Users\\maugust\\AppData\\Local\\ESRI\\conda\\envs\\arcgispro-py3-MSA', '--json') DEBUG:__main__:Ignoring first argument (C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\bin\Python\Scripts\conda.exe), as it is not a subcommand "DEBUG:__main__:Ignoring first argument (C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\bin\Python\Scripts\conda.exe), as it is not a subcommand" Do I have something configured wrong here, or is this a bug? None of my available updates get applied and this appears to be why...

Dan - can you talk to me like I'm 6 here for a second, hah - even if I can install packages directly thru conda, thus circumventing the package manager -- isn't the default environment "read only" now (2.2) for a reason? Would modifying it result in problems down the road?

I figured this out by unchecking "run as administrator" for ArcMap, not really sure how it was ever enabled as I honestly don't think that I did it at any point. This also resolved another issue where I could not see any mapped network drives in ArcCatalog i.e. E:, G:, etc. -- ? unchecking run as admin on the .exe for ArcMap solved both of these issues, this was after updating to 10.6. Hopefully this helps someone else.
