I'm having this exact same issue 13 years later in ArcGIS Pro 3.2 - does anyone have any suggested reading or how to I hit 'Run Upgrade' on a 10.4.1 geodatabase from the Catalog view in Pro? I'm seeing the exact same error as above as DBO owner...

Catalog Layers, new at ArcGIS Pro 3.1, mention the ability to function with definition queries. Do these also work with page definition queries? It seems to be greyed out when we try to utilize them. Thanks!

Is there a setting though, to choose the character that Pro uses to delimit fields (i.e, a semi-colon, or a dash) instead of the default comma? In the legend>unique>values>multiple fields situation specifically I mean.

Yeah that might be a one-off solution - but imagine doing that on a 48-page mapbook with different page orientations and 500 different filled polygons, quickly becomes a problem, they just need to fix this, ArcMap can do this so it can't be that hard.

Ok - what worked for me was uninstalling both access drivers - then installing access_64 driver first normally, followed by a silent install of 32-bit. Now I can see xslx in both ArcMap and Pro again. Isn't there a way to just write this into the Pro updates?

Agreed! I just spent two hours uninstalling/reinstalling all 4 of the drivers, both silently and not silently, worked through the crazy flow chart and still cannot access xlsx files. I made some progress and can now see: "Exception of type 'ArcGIS.Desktop.Core.Geoprocessing.GPItemException' was thrown. Does anyone have any suggestion besides re-installing the access drivers? Because I've done that like 20x and still nothing.

Still seeing this occur a lot in 3.0.1 - any solutions or responses, total pain because when this happens the only fix I've found is to close/open Pro again.

Has anyone figured this out, no matter how I close Pro, 98% of the time it resorts to "Shutting down... (Not Responding) on the window frame, then just utilizes 100% of my cpu until I kill it in task manager...

Yeah we've tried extending the main Portal timeout setting to a couple hours, seems to go away for a while if our troubled users clear their cache, but then somehow comes back. They are forced to re-sign in and they lose any settings to the layers involved in the webapp, ie, transparency, on/off, arrangement, etc. and the web app starts over. It's kicking them approx every half hour. Thanks for getting back to me! If we figure anything out I'll post here.

Thanks for that suggestion, yeah that seems like a good workaround, very confusing to not have it just work like the other "conda" distributions. I've got a bug ticket open with the vscode python extension too because the conda.exe doesn't close correctly on Windows when you shutdown vscode. Beginner here, and I wish there were some ESRI sponsored instructions on how to set up vscode correctly with python since it's so popular and the settings are kind of a nightmare. Cheers!

I have a cloned the default arcgispro-py3 conda environment and would like to set up vscode IDE and use it as my interpreter and in the terminal but am struggling with a few issues: I can choose my default interpreter just fine by pointing to the python.exe inside my cloned conda environment, however the indicator at the bottom says (system) instead of (conda) - is that ok? When I launch a terminal in vscode (or in Windows) it throws up error: Warning: This Python interpreter is in a conda environment, but the environment has not been activated. Libraries may fail to load. To activate this environment please see https://conda.io/activation but when I run "conda activate myvenv" - the command states that myvenv is already the active environment... I guess I'm looking for pretty explicit instructions on how to configure a cloned ArcGIS Pro python environment to work with vscode, Windows PATH considerations, etc. and am a little lost. There seem to be some differences between a regular Anaconda windows installation and the way Pro sets it up. Possibly there is a guide that someone is aware of or if someone working in this IDE could chime in that'd be great.
