Is it possible to have a point that is snapped to the end of a line that when the point is moved the line moves with it?

Good topic, hopefully there are many good responses. I would start with implementing many of the method callbacks and events. Then within those functions log those errors. Assuming your app is using some framework like dojo I'm sure there are log handlers than can take errors and write to a file. For example, adding a layer to the map with addLayer(layer) has the event onLayersAddResult(results) of which the results can be inspected and errors called out. Then for the layer itself, example a dynamic service has the events onError(error) and onUpdateEnd(error). Those errors can also be logged. It would be nice to see a summary of all error events in the API reference rather than having to poke through every API method to see if there are any.

You could start with this example: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jssamples/#sample/fl_dgrid Once you "click" (query/select) a feature you have a "result" object that can be added to anything, a table or an info window for example.

Thanks for both of your answers, using the graphicsExtent gets exactly what I need. I was thinking the featureLayer.fullExtent property http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jsapi/#FeatureLayer/fullExtent would have done that, but I guess not. Thanks.

Hey, I'm trying to get the fullExtent of a featureLayer that when first created is based on a featureCollection. As I use the featureLayer I'll be editing it, adding/removing points based on other service queries. Every time I add data I want to zoom the map to the extent of the points on the map, which I would expect to be the featureLayer.fullExtent values. However, this extent value it typically undefined. Here is an example: http://help.arcgis.com/en/webapi/javascript/arcgis/jssamples/#sample/fl_featurecollection

Rather than creating a webmap, I have my own map that I add layers to, with the first (zero array element) being the basemap. I've seen with a webmap object you can get just the operational layers like this: itemInfo.itemData.operationalLayers is there an equivalent for a map?

More of a suggestion than anything else. Not sure if anyone has done this yet, but would be cool to see some sample projects released that mashed up the ESRI JS api and the HTML5 Boilerplate template: http://html5boilerplate.com/ Seems like a great way to kick off any project.

Well I took the plunge. No major issues thus far. Though I do have the odd problem of the magnifying glass not appearing when I do a long press-hold, getting this error: <Error>: CGImageMaskCreate: invalid image size: 0 x 0.

Use a graphics layer and add your points/lines to that. More about Graphics: http://help.arcgis.com/en/arcgismobile/10.0/apis/ios/2.2/concepts/index.html#/Creating_a_Graphics_layer/00pw0000001z000000/ A sample you could try: http://www.arcgis.com/rc/item.html?id=4ff8cbf77fb94227bcf6bbb9d4ab8d2c

A couple of issues that I see: AGSPoint* myMarkerPoint = [AGSPoint pointWithX:lat y:lng spatialReference:mapView.spatialReference]; X is longitude, Y is Latitude Then, what is the spatialReference of your map view? Is that the same SR as the lat long values you are getting? If your basemap is one of the ESRI maps, typically those are SR web mercator, and if your lat/long points are decimal degrees those are typically in SR WGS84. If you set the spatial reference of the point to WGS84 that should do it, but that's only based on the assumption of your error could be.
