Ahh sounds like we are basically doing the same thing. I'm surprise this is still around given the post I referenced was from 2017. I'll file a bug report through our organization account to see if we can get it prioritized for fixing...

Found this post over in the QT forum from a couple of years ago: https://community.esri.com/message/705538-identifylayers-is-much-slower-with-basemaptypeimagery-than-with-basemaptypestreets I'm experiencing this same issue with 100.4/5 - has anyone else experienced this? Map taps when a web imagery basemap is displayed are very slow and laggy.

I haven't played with line-of-sight yet so forgive the ignorance, but are the results displayed in the AGSGraphicsOverlay? If so you should be able to cycle through the AGSGraphics and find the line(s) that were created. If you can determine which line is the visible one you could then dive into the geometry and then drill down through AGSPolyline -> AGSPartCollection -> AGSPart and cycle through the points until you find the one furthest away (or maybe it will just be the end point depending on how the line is created). A pain, but I've had to do something similar when implementing "distance along line" functionality since linear referencing isn't a thing in Runtime. That was in 10.2.5 though so hopefully the same thing will work in v100

I spoke with some of the developers at the Dev Summit about this issue and I'm really hoping this makes the list of enhancements. Just to add a bit more fuel to this fire, I received the following email from a GIS Analyst in our company today: I have a guy in the XXXXXXX , XX office who collected some data in the field to a hosted feature service in an AGOL webmap I set up for him. ...the points are stuck in limbo and he’s trying to sync back on office wifi and he’s getting the “Unable to Sync Edits” error. At this point the only thing I can do for them is direct them to find a computer with iTunes, pull off the users entire user folder, with all offline data for all maps, and then dig through and find the geodatabase for this specific off-line map so we can convert to FGDB and manually add the stuck points. If File app access was enable (one change in a .plist file) we would be able to be much more surgical about the whole thing. "Grab these three files and copy them into OneDrive" - boom - done. That's a much better workflow for a field worker standing in the mud, or anxiously waiting for their data to sync before they can go home for the night.

I haven't had occasion to do an app with CarPlay support yet, but reading through Apple's documentation (https://developer.apple.com/carplay/documentation/CarPlay-Navigation-App-Programming-Guide.pdf ) it seems like the ESRI Runtime SDK should be a good fit to provide mapping/routing/etc...

I think the whole "vector" think was throwing me and leading me down a wild goose chase looking for some invalid geometry somewhere. Turns out I was using an old school array of field names in my AGSQueryParameters where clause instead of the newer array of AGSOrderBy objects. I swear I'm up over 2000 changes converting this app from 10.2.5 to v100. Thanks!

In the process of converting an app from 10.2.5 to v100 SDK. Getting tons of these types of errors when my feature table queries are running: ArcGIS Runtime Error Occurred. Set a breakpoint on C++ exceptions to see the original callstack and context for this error: Error Domain=com.esri.arcgis.runtime.error Code=2 "Invalid argument" UserInfo={NSLocalizedFailureReason=value's type doesn't match the vector's value type., NSLocalizedDescription=Invalid argument, Additional Message=value's type doesn't match the vector's value type.} Error code 2 is sort of a generic invalid argument thing. Can anyone tell me what vector this error is referring to?

I understand the licensing requirements. For our enterprise data collection apps we primarily use runtime codes to authorize the app. Those apps typically spin up views (including a map view) while a background process is handling various housekeeping tasks, including pulling the license out of the keychain or requesting one from our license request endpoint (first run). When I'm running in the simulator or on my development devices we use a development code that is requested on every run. This process was put in place to comply with the ESRI requirement that runtime codes only be used once. It seems as if that requirement has evolved a bit over the years and perhaps that restriction no longer applies... however we still want to use that mechanism to keep track of the number of installs for ELA reporting purposes. I am in the process of converting one of those apps from the 10.2.5 SDK to v100. For whatever reason the Developer warning shows up on the initial map view load now, and is squished up like the screenshot above once the code is plugged in. Is the lite license the one that is displayed in my developer.esri.com account?

Getting the same thing here... it's definitely the "Developer Use Only" text all squished up. Guessing the width is being set to zero or something and it's not actually being removed from the view hierarchy. In my case the map is the first thing the user sees and waiting until I get a license code (either plugging in a code from the keychain, or downloading one from our in-house license code service) before drawing the map isn't really a workable solution. Once the runtime code is authorized the text collapses into the little blurry thing you see in the screen shot.

Thanks - I have tons of generic edit views where I might have either a new or existing feature that is being edited. Previously the saveFeature method worked fine for either, but I guess I'll have to use AGSGeodatabaseFeatureTable's canUpdateFeature to check if it is new (not updatable) or not and take the appropriate route. Am I assuming correctly that a new feature will return a NO when I check with canUpdateFeature?

I'm updating some apps from runtime 2.5 to 100.4 It looks like the AGSGDBFeatureTable saveFeature method has been replaced by the AGSGeodatabaseFeatureTable addFeature and updateFeature methods. Do I need to detect if the feature is "new" and use the appropriate add or update method now?

iOS has system wide support for hardware controls via the Accessibility Switch Control (Use Switch Control to navigate your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support ) There is an article here that walks you through configuring a simple bluetooth keyboard as a switch control. I'd probably lean toward using a bluetooth 10 key and configure that for rapid data collection. They also discuss some options for making even simpler switches. iOS Switch Control on a Budget using Bluetooth Keyboards | ATMakers I've considered implementing something like this, or using the iOS game controller interface in a custom Runtime app for data collection on aerial bird surveys or other rapid-fire data collection scenarios. Haven't had a chance to try it out just yet - so please share if you do!

With the introduction of the iOS Files app we've seen less of a need to install iTunes on desktop machines. Now we can stash TPKs or VTPKs in a OneDrive account and transfer them into our apps as needed. The same process works well for backing up collected data without the need to back up the entire device. It doesn't look like the new Collector is currently configured to support the iOS files app. Can you please switch on this support? We are increasingly using the files app to manage the basemap data used in our enterprise Runtime apps and it would be great if we could do the same for projects using Collector.

I'm trying to create a general, high level basemap for use in an ArcGIS Runtime App. I've been attempting to use the ESRI Navigation vector basemap (export version) in ArcGIS Pro 2.2.4 but am getting an error when I try to run the tool. See this post in the ArcGIS iOS Runtime forum for details: https://community.esri.com/thread/226503-create-vtpk-from-esri-vector-basemaps Has anyone has success doing this? Is this a supported workflow for vector base maps like it is for tiled base maps?
